We just started work on another room addition. This client needs the room to house a hot tub that can be used for therapeutic care. We worked with them to come up with a design that is both simple, to keep costs down, but also serves the purpose well. Our work at the spa room addition has progressed quickly. We have erected the sidewalls and the roof structure and set the windows and exterior door. We are using Marvin Integrity windows on this project. They are a good choice in this application as they have a wood interior surface and a very tough fiberglass exterior surface.

Over our forty year history we have completed commercial projects ranging from small business additions to large multi-housing developments. We have built projects in every class of commercial construction including multi-housing, hotels, office, industrial, and warehouse. We work with our clients to understand their expansion goals and deliver a quality project on-time and on-budget.

Yesterday I was on site at a nice new project Northfield Construction Company is starting. It is a large addition and remodel for Faith Lutheran Church in Dodge Center, Minnesota. The photo at left shows the church before any work started. We are finishing up a fun little job in Wanamingo for Security State Bank. They needed to make some changes to their clerking areas and decided to install an all new teller line. They worked with HTG Architects to come up with a plan that both served their needs and fits in with the existing building.

Over the past decades we have constructed hundreds of homes in and around the Northfield area ranging from contemporary to traditional. Each of our homes is unique as we work with our clients to design a home that fits their architectural style and budget. Our attention to detail ensures a quality product that will stand the test of time. We also have an extensive background and history in residential remodeling and expansions. The work we are doing on a house along a river is moving along nicely. Our first task mainly dealt with constructing the deck for the project. We used an engineered composite material called Trex for the decking, attached to decay resistant structural lumber. It looks very nice and should serve the client well for many years. If you are a regular reader of this website you most likely have noticed that Northfield Construction Company handles a wide variety of construction projects. We have a very talented group of workers that are very comfortable working on large projects.

We are just about finished with the first phase of the work we are doing at the Northfield 5th Street parking lot. Part of our work involved creating large curved concrete steps from the sidewalk into the river. It can be used as a seat to observe the river, or as steps for canoeists to exit the river above the dam. The architect cre. We started a remodeling project for Randolph Schools. Randolph is a small town located just northeast of Northfield. Our work involves creating a new classroom from some existing space in the high school.
