Our expertise is in kitchen remodeling and home additions but with over 30 years of experience in architectural design and build, we've done all. Exterior remodeling, basement finishing, man caves and carriage houses and whole-home design and build. From interior design and space planning to architectural design and project management, we'll coordinate it all with you, because at Danberry we don't just build homes, we build relationships! The Danberry Group has been the go to name for all my remodeling needs four different times over the last 30 years.
EDG has been designing and building kitchens for families throughout the west metro for over 30 years. We understand that good design is a balance of form, function and family time! Over the years we've seen more and more kitchens become the focal spot of the home, the place were everyone congregates during get togethers, where the kids finish their homework and where dad watches football on Sunday. The kitchen needs to be functional while also comfortable, it's the place where life happens, not just breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The second most popular project, after kitchens, are master suites and bathrooms. We have seen a shift from the huge "roman bath" in master suites to a more compact space that maximizes efficiency; less of a place to linger and more of a bright functional way to start your day. Having the "feature" of the bath be the focal point upon entering the bathroom is a design element I try to achieve. That feature is usually the tub but may be the vanity. Vanities almost always a double sink affair, their at least 5′ in length - sometimes with a center stack of drawers on top of the countertop.
We specialize in tucking ductwork and pipes into floor joists to eliminate soffits and low ceilings. The lower levels are where we see theater rooms or at least the larger TV's with multiple seating. Kitchenettes are more common than bars. Wine cellars are more common than Tap rooms. The Man Cave ends up being the family room for informal gatherings such as happy hours, football games, graduation parties and much more! It's not just a place for the man anymore, it's a place for the entire family to hang out.
Our business has evolved from doing roofing and siding in the 80's to porches and decks in the 90's to 2nd story additions and complete tear down houses today. Needless, to say, we've done it all! Higher land values and poor building practices in the 30's, 40's, 50's have given some homeowners the option to tear down their existing structure and essentially, start from scratch. We're continually examining the option of a tear down or total renovation with clients who want to add energy efficiencies and floor plan designs that are more sustainable.
Additions are finally making a comeback! After years of slow down traffic for larger homes we are seeing more homeowners adding onto their existing homes. We commonly see porch/family room additions off of the kitchen. Master suite additions have also been very popular lately. Third garage stalls with living space above are always sought after but side yard setbacks hinder these as we need access for a driveway in the front. Ready to design your dream home? The house was originally built int he 1950s and wasn't updated until Danberry Building Corp remodeled it in 2017. We remodeled the entire kitchen adding granite countertops, new cabinets and stainless steel appliances. We remodel the bathroom with new ceramic tile bath and refinished original oak floors throughout the entire house. We also upgraded the washer and dryer and finished the basement with new drain tile and radon abatement. We painted the exterior and added new light fixtures and gutters.
The current 1970's "U" shaped kitchen with a brick grill had minimal views to their back yard and poor access to the porch. Their dinning room was essentially unused. The homeowners were looking to open up the kitchen to allow for more space to socialize with friends and family and to create a dinning room that was more livable. Ready to design your dream home?
