Our clients have lived in this Quarton Lake home in the heart of Birmingham for 16 years. The layout had never made sense to them as the house was designed with multiple floors. The main entry floor originally included the formal dining and living rooms, along with a sunroom and powder room. Accessed at a. The Kitchen Although their kitchen was in relatively good condition, our clients wanted to change their space to incorporate modern, European-like features. We designed custom cabinets with a horizontal grain walnut base that were paired with tall sleek, white upper cabinets.

This 1952 two-story home still carried its bland, suburban, colonial faade. Our clients knew when they bought the home 5 years previous that it required some serious curb appeal. Updating the roofing and siding was the start of a complete exterior transformation. The front-facing brick was covered with a thin stone veneer and wrapped around. Living in a 1951, Royal Oak Colonial, our client challenged us with the task of modifying the front faade into a mid-century modern. Staining the original limestone, a translucent greige, and painting the brick to coordinate was just the start.

Home is where the heart is for this family and not surprisingly, a much needed mudroom entrance for their teenage boys and a soothing master suite to escape from everyday life are at the heart of this home renovation. With some small interior modifications and a 6′ x 20′ addition, MainStreet Design Build was able. On April 22, 2013, MainStreet Design Build began a 6-month construction project that ended November 1, 2013 with a beautiful 655 square foot addition off the rear of this client's home.

From those conceptual floor plan drawings, you receive detailed three-dimensional renderings.

Each job site will be prepared in a similar fashion to containment for EPA Lead-Safe Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) demolition rules. Additionally, the exterior of the site will contain signage, a record-keeping station, and a hand-washing station. Again, the health and safety of our clients and of our team are of utmost importance. During this time, MainStreet Design Build is adjusting our work practices and our schedule to complete our clients' projects safely, beautifully, and efficiently.

In celebration of our silver anniversary, MainStreet Design Build partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County, along with Lawrence Technological University (LTU) and other industry leaders to build a home using a new community-focused design developed by university students. This partnership worked to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building this affordable home, providing a "hand up" and not a "hand out." MainStreet Design Build was honored to be volunteering our hearts, hands and voices to sponsor the build of LTU's new model of construction that teaches its students to approach architecture and design with a holistic perspective.

President and Founder, Steve Ramaekers had been working in the home remodeling industry for 12 years before he founded MainStreet Design Build. Throughout the 80's and early 90's, while working for a large home remodeling firm, Steve climbed the ranks from rough carpenter, finish carpenter to project manager. During this time, he recognized an opportunity in the local remodeling industry to pay closer attention to details, deliver higher quality and produce better customer service. He envisioned treating customers with respect-working in collaboration with them to build out their living spaces and exceed their expectations.
