As a design/build firm, our commitment is to achieve the complete satisfaction of our clients from initial design ideas to construction completion. We have the expertise to guide you through the entire process of a home renovation or addition. Experienced residential architects and designers work with you to re-imagine your home with space planning, structural changes, and material selections. Our construction team brings those designs to life. Your involvement is key for both segments of the process.

Much of our business comes from referrals and repeat work, so we strive to build long-term relationships with our customers and delight them with the craftsmanship, attention to detail and professionalism we deliver. Chris Landis is a licensed architect in four states-DC, Virginia, Maryland, and New York, a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Remodelers Advantage Roundtable (RAR). Chris is also a licensed contractor in DC, Maryland and Virginia. After graduating with an MA in architecture from Columbia University and before founding Landis Architects/Builders, Chris worked with Fortune 500 companies, responsible for the design and construction of office spaces in high rise multi-use buildings and worked on complex international projects.

Company principal Chris Landis, AIA, and Director of Architecture, Paul Gaiser, AIA, are both experienced architects who manage a talented team of designers and drafters. The team uses the latest in 3D and virtual reality technology to help clients visualize the changes to their home. During the three design phases, they'll use a variety of practices to communicate design options. If you don't have 3D goggles, ask us about it when you schedule your initial consultation and we'll bring a pair to demonstrate how it works.

Because of the value we believe we bring to the table and the valuable time we invest, we request a retainer to complete a construction estimate. We call this Pre-Construction Services. If you have a set of plans from a design professional and you would like us to build the project, we request a retainer to complete a construction estimate. When homeowners send their "bid set" drawings out to contractors to produce a construction estimate, they are usually baffled by the wide range of estimates they receive.

It's great for design and also offers substantial value for a customer in the right situation. A Master Plan is used in residential architecture typically for larger projects that involve two or more potential construction phases done over a number of years. In large architecture firms, the Master Plan might be used for the purpose of developing a broad, long-range overview of, for example, a campus of buildings to be developed over a number of years. A client may have need or financing for only a portion of the project in the near term, but needs a broader scope, longer term project outline.
