Beat the heat and stay comfortable with our company's air conditioning service that will have your home's atmosphere cool and relaxing. Most AC units will require some servicing in order to work at peak efficiency, and with regular maintenance, a good unit will last you a long time. When that time comes, call Sherman's Heating & Air Conditioning at 703-862-3409. No matter what region of the U.S. you reside in, winter will come and it will be colder than you'd like. So why not trust our company to make sure you are at ease with our heating services.
Bob is THE. BEST. On a hot summer day with the indoor temperature at 88 for two consecutive days and our home warranty provider not able to respond for 2 more days to fix our non cooling AC, Bob responded on a Sunday late in the afternoon in less than one hour. Look no further for affordable, reliable and fast service. Thank you!
I recommend this company because they won't try to upswell you at all and they are full of knowledge. Reminds me of if my Dad came in my home and tried to help me repair something. So helpful, guiding us in the right direction. He literally told us about every product we didn't need and why. Honestly, we don't know jack about HVAC and they could have told us anything but they were super honest. I checked with a trusted friend and he said they were totally on point.
Thanks Yelpers. Oh and to the cheap ass 1-star comment below complaining about the hourly rate... don't judge price by hourly rate. Judge it on the price you would pay for someone else to do it because you can't do it yourself.
I have had a few companies service my home HVAC over the years, and Shermans is the BEST. I will never use anyone else. Bob can troubleshoot, diagnose and fix any problem with a AC or furnace: correctly, quickly and economically. I really appreciate the way he explains how the systems works, and involves me in the troubleshooting and repairs. "We" fixed my unit using FaceTime, as he walked me thru step by step identification of the problem and solution (I am not a handyman by any means). Highly recommend that you trust Shermans to take care of your system.
Can't give five stars because I didn't actually end up having service performed by Sherman's, but the four stars are for the advice I was provided over the phone and I would definitely go with this company if they're available.
I have a small commercial building that needs two new HVAC units and I was having trouble finding anyone in the area that had time to come out and give a proposal. I called Sherman's because of its location and ratings and within 3 minutes of speaking with the guy on the phone he explained that he wasn't willing to give me a bid because the job was outside of the scope of what he works on.
He could've hung up at that moment, but instead he spent the next 15 minutes explaining what the job would entail and giving me recommendations on the brand of units I should be looking for, the difference in sizes of units and what size would likely be sufficient, and the pros and cons of different options that would be available on the units so that I could decide whether they were worth the cost and likely maintenance. He then recommended another company that works on this type of job and suggested that once I had a bid I would be in a better position to shop around. I found his knowledge and candor to be invaluable, especially since he was essentially donating his time to a job he had already turned down.
I noticed another reviewer who had a bad phone experience with this company and to be fair, the guy on the phone has a different conversational style than I think people are used to. He might come off a little prickly, but I think if you just give him the info he needs that whatever comes back will be honest and fair.
Pro Tip: If you're replacing a unit, have the brand and model number ready when you call so he can tell you everything you need.
Bob got me out of a big jam back in February. I was selling a house and closing was on a Thursday. There were a few HVAC items on the buyer's list that they wanted me to "fix" before closing. I had scheduled another company to come out on Tuesday to do the work. Due to the heavy snow the day prior to snow they flaked - didn't show, didn't call. I got a hold of them and all they could offer was to come on Friday.
So I pulled up Yelp and took a chance on Sherman's. I spoke to Bob and he agreed to come do the work pending his ability to get onto my street. Luckily it is a bus route so the county had plowed it.
Bob shows up less than 90 minutes later and does the work (and then some). His price was more than fair, especially given the circumstance.
I think you have to know what you're getting into with Bob. He's a straight shooter. That's probably off putting to a lot of people. You have to be prepared and ready for him to explain what he is doing in very thorough detail. For me -- a guy who loves to know how everything in the universe works -- I appreciated it. If you are in a rush or simply don't care I could see why this would annoy you. I think he was trying to impart his knowledge so that I, as a homeowner, could have a better sense of how the HVAC system worked. The flip side to his demeanor is that he offered legitimate ways to save me money on the fixes I needed and potential future issues.
I'd hire him again if I needed to.
Extremely rude!!! They guy who answers the phone has no people skills, and even without knowing anything about my home was not at all interested in my issues. He said they only service certain A/C setups, and since mine has a component in the attic he wasn't interested in the work without even assessing the job. I asked if he wanted my business, and his response was "We do not!"
I called this morning because we had no heat. He said he would be here within an hour & he was. He repaired the problem & explained way more than I understood. He also gave me helpful hints for my furnace, A/C & hot water heater!!! His price was lower than others. I have put Sherman's name on my frig & will call for any other problem.
We got back from a vacation and that night the Outside part of our Central AC went down. With another 95+ degree day awaiting us, we called a half hour after they opened to see if someone could come by.
They said that they may be able to get their before noon, if not, it would have to wait until tomorrow as they were busy.
They ended up stopping by around 10:30 and fixing our problem so the AC would be up immediately and then went over with us what some other issues with it may be, but with no pressure on using them in the future, but I would anyway.
Quick service, good knowledge, and a true appreciation for the customer.
