In the neighborhood of Gentilly, where Franklin Avenue meets Dreux Street, "Buck" and Margie Young opened the very first Young's Cleaners in 1940. Through the years, as cleaning technology evolves and Young's services expand, longtime customers continue to come back to New Orleans' most hospitable, dependable cleaners. Today, Don and Dale, the owners of this third generation local cleaners are still onsite, personally handling clothes-preserving the strict standards first set by their grandparents more than 79+ years ago.

Young's goal is to return clothes in better condition than the day our customers bought them. It all starts by greeting our longtime customers, or introducing ourselves to new friends, with a warm smile from a friendly face. Nicole and Taylor know how to treat folks who visit our Lakeview location, while Melvina and Taylor are always ready to serve you at our Uptown cleaners. They each take the time to listen and to ask the important questions that will help the team back at our state-of-the-art cleaning facility uphold Young's strict professional standards.

We realize you have a lot invested in your wardrobe - that's why we carefully check all garments for stains, loose or missing buttons, and unraveled hems and return them to you good as new after cleaning. We follow manufacturers' exact cleaning specifications and each item is expertly finished, inspected, and packaged after cleaning so it's fresh and ready to wear. We enthusiastically encourage and embrace non-traditional and complex items, like wedding gown preservation, window treatments (including expert takedown and rehang), rugs, needlepoint, tableware and linens, couture and other high end or custom garments, family heirlooms.

It may surprise you to learn that Young's, the quiet unassuming little neighborhood cleaners headquartered in Gentilly, is actually a textile restoration specialist and member of the internationally organized Certified Restoration Dry Cleaning Network (CRDN). Dale and Don head up the restoration of all garments for CRDN across both the Southeast Louisiana and Southern Mississippi regions. In fact, Dale is a certified continuing education instructor who teaches a comprehensive textile restoration and ethics curriculum to adjusters and agents across both regions.
