Classic Drycleaners and Laundromats serves the Greater Harrisburg area with eight drycleaning locations, five laundromats, free pickup and delivery service, and a textile and electronics restoration division specializing in fire, smoke, mold and water damage restoration. From basic wardrobe essentials such as pants and sweaters to specialty pieces such as pageant gowns and stage wear, our staff is experienced in caring for a wide variety of garments. Classic Drycleaners is a full service, professional dry cleaner serving the Greater Harrisburg area. We provide laundry and pressing services for military fatigues, as well as specialty professions such as pipeline workers and medical personnel. Many area doctors also choose our professional dry cleaning to care for their lab coats.

Classic Drycleaners has been restoring damaged textiles from smoke damage, fire and water damage for over 25 years. We have trained professionals in textile and electronics restoration to assist homeowners and apartment and insurance services. We follow a standardized process established by the international franchise, CRDN. CRDN of South Central PA is a division of Classic Drycleaners and Laundromats. This division provides textile and electronics restoration services to homeowners and apartment tenants when a tragic fire or flood occurs causing smoke, soot, water and/or mold damage.

We are proud to provide commercial dry cleaning and commercial wash and fold services for businesses and workplaces throughout the Harrisburg area. Additionally, we provide commercial repairs and alterations. We have many doctors, nursing classes, and police departments who utilize our professional repair services for items such as logo patches and name badges. Our commercial pickup and delivery service is perfect for medical offices such as: Dermatology, Cosmetic Surgery, General Practice, Radiology, and Sleep Clinics.

Classic Drycleaners and Laundromats was started in 1970 by Paul and Joanne Kostick, and is now owned by Paula Kostick. Prior to 1970, Paula's father served in the Army and later became a salesman. In his travels, he noticed a common thread among both dry cleaners and laundromats - they were dark, dirty, uninviting, and lacking in customer service. Paula's mother, who was a teacher at the time, joined her father in business and together, they opened their first dry cleaning store and laundromat in Mechanicsburg.

In short, items are sorted by fabric, color, and care instructions. They are placed in a large, front-loading dry cleaning machine. Items are cleaned and dried in the same cycle. Because no moisture (meaning from water) is used in the process, and because items go in "dry" and come out "dry", we call it dry cleaning. All garments are required to have care instructions, either on an attached tag or accompanying documentation. Dry clean only garments will have the dry clean symbol indicated on the tag.

Being an environmentally friendly dry cleaner, or the best green dry cleaner, is so much more involved than simply stating what dry cleaning solvent a dry cleaner may or may not use. Established recycling programs, innovation, and continual monitoring of equipment and procedures are all keys to minimizing waste and reducing utility usage. All of these factors contribute to the goal of being a socially conscious dry cleaner. In 2017, we completed an extensive renovation project that drastically reduced our overall utility usage.
