GI-RO Dry Cleaners first opened in 1955 in Lockport. Since then, we have added six other locations, and we continue to wow our customers with our impeccable cleaning techniques. As a family-owned business, we honor our roots with excellent customer service.

Here at GI-RO Dry Cleaners, we have a lot to celebrate this year! It is our 62 year in business, spanning across three generations of owners. GI-RO was opened in 1955 by Anthony and Angela Giansante at a small location at 67 Locust Street in downtown Lockport. Back in those days, customers could just leave their clothes and money on the counter if no one was around to wait on them! As Anthony and Angela's family grew to nine children, the business was growing too, with everyone's help. Their son, David, remained the one with a life-long passion for the dry cleaning business.

Our program is a partnership between the Living Opportunities of DePaul and local dry cleaners designed to help those who are in need, promoting recycle, reuse and repurpose. The Living Opportunities of Depaul, Inc. is a not- for-profit organization that provides secure, recovery-oriented living environments for individuals with psychiatric disabilities. The organization is committed to assisting its clientele in living, meaningful, productive lives by providing flexible supports in a person-centered atmosphere.

At GI-RO Dry Cleaners, we have decades of experience working with textiles. We're more than happy to help our customers maintain their clothing and home fabrics because we know that well-maintained fabrics look beautiful for years. Although many items can be cared for at home, some fabrics and special items require dry cleaning services. We carefully clean fabrics like silk, suede and leather and items with delicate embellishments to preserve their beauty. When washing fabrics at home, be sure to carefully read their care labels and follow those instructions.

Our Concord Asko wet cleaning system uses low levels of water and very little mechanical action. The wet cleaning detergent cleans your clothes more gently than hand-washing and a finishing agent maintains the new look of your clothes.
