Sootslayer has the professionals and resources to perform most chimney repairs. We will inspect your chimney, inside and out, then make recommendations. The most common chimney system repairs include: chimney cleanout and ash dump area, firebox and smoke chamber repairs, flue repairs and relinings, chimney upgrades and converting fuels, and exterior damage due to water intrusion and weather. Our certified professionals will use video scanning if required to ensure the most detailed and thorough inspection of your chimney.

Since our beginning, it has become apparent that chimneys cannot be adequately inspected from either the top or the bottom of the chimney. And even though we have offered video scanning for many, with recent improvements in the video scanning equipment, we feel that scanning is no longer an optional part of chimney cleaning, but an integral, necessary part, providing a complete service to our customers. Each time the furnace or air conditioner is turned on, contaminants are spewed out and circulated throughout your home and affect the health and comfort of your family. Family members who suffer from allergies, asthma or other respiratory ailments as well as children and the elderly are especially vulnerable to the effects of indoor air pollutants.

Yes it does. Chimney caps, also called rain covers, are probably the most inexpensive preventative measure that a homeowner can employ to prevent water penetrations and damage to their chimney. Chimneys have one or more large openings (flues) at the top that collect rain water and funnel it directly to the chimney interior. Caps also function as spark arrestors, preventing sparks from landing on the roof or other nearby combustible material. We will install any type of cap, but we recommend stainless steel or copper, because of better quality and durability.
