Oriental rug cleaning has come a long way over the centuries, and we have further perfected the practice. Sci-Tech cares for the finest to the most basic rugs from around the world. We will pick your rug up and bring it to our special cleaning studio where it will receive our very thorough Cleaning System to get maximum soil and spot removal. Having your rug cleaned in our plant allows us to give it several treatments for a more thorough cleaning, controlled drying, and the use of various tools that are not available on location.
We use a "beating machine" to thoroughly beat dirt and other particulates out of the rug. This process is more effective than vacuuming and removes a significant amount of dirt from your rugs. Alone, this process acts as a dry cleaning for your rug. A high-powered and completely rug-safe cleaner is applied to the rug. Then we scrub the rug thoroughly on both sides before flushing water through the rugs in our wash pit. This process pushes out virtually all of the remaining dirt in the rug. Rugs are dried flat on a drying board with airflow on the bottom and top of the rug before being hung in a separate drying station.

After testing the fabric for colorfastness, we will determine exactly how your piece should be cleaned. The fabric is pre-vacuumed, pre-treated, and rinsed with our very low moisture method (dry in 2 hrs).
