Dooling Landscape Service has been serving homes and businesses in Santa Clara County since 1984. Tim Dooling, the owner, had graduated from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture in 1978. After several years in the nursery business, I began to do landscaping. I really enjoy the creativity that landscaping has allowed me. I enjoy working with people and creating a yard that people can really enjoy and be proud of. Some of our employees have been with us since the beginning, and their expertise shows in their work.

We specialize in the installation of all different types of pavers for patios, walkways, and driveways. We install Calstone, Basalite, and Pacific Interlocking Pavers, to name just a few. For patios and walkways, existing surfaces are removed down to a depth of 7 inches. For driveways existing surfaces are removed down to a depth of 12 inches. Pavers for patios and walkways are installed on a base of 4 inches of well compacted baserock, followed by 1 inch of paver sand. For driveways it is a base of 8 inches of well compacted baserock, followed by 1 inch of paver sand.

Dooling Landscape Service has been installing sod lawns for clients in Santa Clara County for more than two decades. A beautiful sod lawn begins with the proper soil preparation. This includes rototilling of the soil twice, once to open up the soil, and second to add the soil amendments and incorporate them into the soil. This gives air space in the soil, which is very important for good root development in establishing your new lawn. The soil is then graded and rolled. Now that the soil has been properly prepared, the sod is then installed.

We can custom design your landscape lighting. This would include the installation of floodlights for your trees, shrubs, waterfalls, ponds, and fountains. We also install pathway lights to light up your entrance and walkways. With the proper lighting of your landscape, you can enjoy it as much at night as you do during the day.

Dooling Landscape Service can design your irrigation system. This can be anything from sprinklers for large lawn areas to drip systems for planting areas near your home or drought resist landscapes. We use the most water efficient irrigation materials available. Installing a new controller will also water your landscape properly, but will also save on water usage. Which will mean long term savings on your water bill. You can have a beautiful landscape and also be water efficient.

We work with our clients in the selection of their trees, shrubs, groundcovers, and flowers. We work with several local nurseries to bring to you the best in plants. For those hard to find plants, we have excellent resources for special orders. We can meet with you at nurseries, so that you know exactly what is be planted in your yard. When it comes to seasonal color changes, we know what flowers will do the best in your yard, giving you the most color, for the longest blooming season. Soil preparation is vital to a beautiful landscape.
