Larry Pliska is the founder of Planterra, a leading provider of interior landscape and horticultural services, design services, tropical plant procurement and organic material for corporate spaces. He founded the business in 1973. Shane serves as president of the leading interior landscape firm, Planterra. He considers his role in managing the West Bloomfield-based, nationally-focused company, as so much more than a career. Light is the most critical requirement for any interior landscape installation. Proper lighting for interior landscape design will assure healthy and attractive indoor greenery. For this reason, we published a white paper on the subject, the Planterra Lighting Guide for Interior Landscape Design. The guide provides insight on light measurement, natural and artificial light parameters and sources, acclimatized foliage, plant placement, geographic considerations, benefits to plants and people and more about indoor landscape lighting.
Planterra Conservatory is a glass-enclosed, botanical garden venue. With European curved trusses, indoor koi ponds and a dramatic stone gabion archway, the Conservatory houses a wide collection of lush, exotic botanicals. Providing views of the stars on a clear night and soft, natural light during the day, Planterra Conservatory is a unique event space for weddings, corporate events, and social functions. Family-owned and operated, the Conservatory opened in 2010 amidst the redevelopment of Planterra's original greenhouses, circa 1930s.
Planterra's team of seasonal dcor designers and prop fabricators work year-round to produce unique displays and exhibits for office buildings, shopping centers, hotels, casinos, and hospitals. Exhibits and displays that enhance the guest experience, drive foot traffic and create photo opportunities for social media publicity. When a display becomes an attraction, it fulfills objectives beyond decorating and achieves goals outlined by the client's marketing and public relations team. The most compelling attractions involve promoting a 5th Season-- an unexpected experience that no one else is offering in the geographic vicinity.
Founded in 1973 by Larry Pliska, Planterra was created as a green solution to stark building interior designs. In the early 1970s, many modern buildings of the era, constructed of concrete and glass, required humanization. The solution called for thoughtfully designed and selected interior plantscapes, together with expert maintenance services. Planterra is among the first companies in North America to specialize exclusively in interior landscaping. Many of Planterra's first clients remain loyal to this day.
Everything about Planterra is first class. Everything is beautifully kept and the staff shows the highest level of professionalism. Highly recommend this facilities!
Loved having our wedding reception here in June of 2016. The staff was great to work with. They really listened to what we wanted and let us know if we might be making a poor decision when appropriate. The caterers the venue uses is top notch as well. Best wedding food in my opinion. I would get married here over and over if I could.
What a beautiful venue! The staff is wonderful as well.
#Repost @christagraham_ events ・・・ There are some wedding locations that you just can't stop thinking about! Planterra Conservatory is one of those places. It was an incredible experience working in this glass-enclosed botanical venue for Marie and Billy's wedding. Can we do it again?!
