Let our mowing team free up your Saturdays so you can enjoy life a little more. Our crews provide your site with the full service with each weekly visit - necessary clipping removal, weed whip detailing and blowing off of walks, drives and decks. We also have mowers that are equipped with mulch on demand decks that, when conditions allow, enable us to return the clippings to the lawn and gain the nutritional benefits they provide. All of our riding mowers are fueled with propane, which reduces emissions and helps to provide cleaner air.

Let us worry about your lawn. We want you to be able to enjoy the summer. We offer lawn care programs designed for your specific lawn. Sunlight, moisture retention, soil and grass type are all factors taken into account when setting up your lawn program. We'll keep you the envy of the neighborhood by applying professional-grade, slow-release fertilizers that provide a continuous green color without creating peaks and valleys in the mowing schedule. Our lawn care program has received the Macatawa Area Coordinating Council's Seal of Approval for proper use of fertilizers and best management practices in regards to cleaning up our lakes and waterways.

Landscape Design Services offers a fleet of over 100 trucks as well as 50 off-road and specialized pieces of equipment allowing us to install projects of any size. Our full-time mechanics work diligently to maintain our equipment, keeping our projects running efficiently and on schedule. Eighty acres of nursery stock with added selections from Oregon to the East Coast, provide us with the quality, quantity, and diversity of plant material for your garden. Our specimen size stock, which we install directly from our nurseries, provides immediate impact on your site without waiting for years of growth.

Larry J. Bakker launched Landscape Design Services in 1968 at the same location where it remains today between Holland and Grand Haven. At the time, Larry was working out of his home with just one employee and a truck. Since then the business has grown to become the largest full-service landscape company in west Michigan with 165 team members. While the business has grown in size, the growth has been fueled by the one-on-one long-term relationships our designers and service staff have developed with our clients.

Our professional landscape architects and designers are the key to our creative solutions. We can assist you with your project not just in the landscape, but also with design and layout of hardscapes (driveways, sidewalks, swimming pools, decks, etc.) so that all the elements of your project merge into one complete thought. With implementation under direction of your designer, our crews will bring the vision to reality.
