Nature's Perspective Landscaping is a full-service landscaping firm that designs, builds, and maintains beautiful, functional outdoor settings, serving Chicago's north side and the North Shore community. Husband and wife Tom Klitzkie and Barbara Schwarz combined their mutual love of plants, work experience, and landscaping knowledge and founded the company in 1979. Over the years, the company has grown to over 45 employees and has a three-acre facility in Evanston, which includes a paving showroom, a lighting gallery, and a one-acre nursery with a large inventory of trees, shrubs, and perennials.

Nature's Perspective Landscaping is committed to using the best practices in landscaping and is fully licensed, bonded, and insured. We use high quality machinery and equipment that is well-kept and well-maintained. Our professional crews are courteous, well-trained, and expedient. Each supervisor possesses more than 20 years of experience with our company and are ILCA Certified Landscape Technicians. Together, we work to proactively monitor landscapes and address potential problems, such as insect and disease diagnosis, pruning needs and hazardous situations.

Skilled and experienced craftsmen construct hardscapes and features with great care and attention to detail. Each of our foremen and supervisors have been with Nature's Perspective for at least 15 years. They build solid, sound foundations and structures using high quality materials. We take note of your home's unique architectural features and select materials to enhance your property and meet your budget. We install a wide range of natural stone, clay and man-made pavers such as concrete and composite.

Our environmental stewardship is reflected through both landscape maintenance and facility maintenance. Ninety-five percent of our trucks and heavy machinery are powered by biodiesel, a renewable energy source derived from recycled oils and animal fats, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, all of our backpack leaf blowers are powered by clean-burning propane, which produces 96% fewer carcinogens, 70% less hydrocarbons and 97% less particulates than gasoline-powered versions. We recycle thousands of plastic plant containers each year, turn all our grass clippings and leaves into compost, and have construction soil cleaned and reconditioned so it can be used again.
