The Germann Brothers have been maintaining lawns and landscapes together since the late 90's. We can also, on request, provide local addresses that showcase our work! Scott is our outdoor lighting expert. With landscape lights, proper design is the difference between ok and exceptional. Each area of the house needs the correct light fixture and wattage to correctly accent the plant or architectural feature. Make the lighting too bright, and the look will be harsh and washed out. Use too few lights, and the shadows/dark areas will create an unbalanced feel. Our goal is to draw attention to the right details and use shadowing to create an interested and unique look that will add curb appeal and safety around your house.
The Triple processed black hardwood is by far the most popular-it is dyed a dark color with food grade colorant to maintain a dark look longer. Regular hardwood comes brown, and fades to a silver/gray over time. Most products perform equally at protecting plant roots from extreme temperature and moisture conditions. The time of year to refesh existing mulch is a matter of opinion-we usually start in March and mulch through June, but anytime late summer or fall works as well.
GreenLawn Specialists does ornamental tree pruning, and removal/trimming of some trees. We offer great discounts for this type of work during our off season (December-February). Winter is a great time to "rejuvenate" overgrown shrubs by cutting them back to the proper level. Many bushes, including viburnum, burning bushes, lilacs, etc. can be successfully resized. We can also clear out brush, grind stumps, and haul away debris. For more advanced tree work requiring an arborist (climbing, large trees, insect and disease managment) we highly recommend McCullough's Tree Service.
