Following these guidelines will ensure success to keep your landscaping looking its best. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your landscape, please feel free to contact us or your local extension office to diagnose problems. Trees and shrubs: Fertilize with a organic or slow release granular fertilizer during spring and early fall per recom- mended rates (such as 20-20-20). Slow-release fertilizer tablets may also be reapplied. Azaleas and Rhododendrons: Fertilize after blooming with a slow release fertilizer formulated specifically for these plants (such as 20-7-7).
On trees, you can just leave the hose on a slow drip and put it on the tree for about an hour each time you supposed to water. Water daily or as needed, make sure all containers have holes in bottom for proper drainage. Sod must be cared for 3-6 times per year with applications of pre-emergents and fertilizers and must also be watered consistently to stay healthy and green. The taller your grass, the deeper the roots, so don't mow too low.
