In 1905, Elias Fellabaum had the foresight to envision the future of concrete masonry. He began Peerless Block Company on as a one-person operation, making 200-300 concrete blocks a day by hand. Today, with 5 Master Blockmakers and four retail locations, Peerless has the capacity to produce 50,000 blocks each day. The company moved their facility in the 1960's from Patrick Street in Charleston, West Virginia to a riverside location in St. Albans. With both river, rail and nearby interstate access, this location provided an ideal location for growth and diversification.
