With more than 39 years of experience, Cedar Run Landscapes embraces the concept of sustainability and the relationship between our clients, their landscape and the environment. We believe we are not just creating a garden space, but an immersive experience that will age gracefully, integrate with the surroundings and be cherished by our clients year after year. Cedar Run uses sustainable materials and techniques to integrate the art of landscaping, hardscaping, and water features to create outdoor rooms that will become a setting for entertainment or relaxation.
Alden R. Zove is President of Cedar Run Landscapes, which is celebrating its 39th Anniversary this year. Cedar Run specializes in water garden installations, rainwater harvesting systems, eco-sensitive design practices including permeable pavements, LED lighting, native plantings and environmentally sensitive maintenance practices. Zove proudly accepted the Greater Philadelphia Sustainable Business Network's "Triple Bottom Line" Award in 2008 for the company's efforts in promoting people, planet and profits as a business model.
Often thought as the backbone of the landscaping plan, hardscaping provides an aesthetic contrast to the ever-changing plant life in the garden. The hardscape enhances the appearance of the garden while serving very useful and practical functions. Our crews are trained in all aspects of hardscape installation repair and maintenance and have obtained industry and manufacturer certifications to keep up to date with the most modern methods and materials. Our Cedar Run masonry team uses a wide range of hardscaping materials such as natural fieldstone, bluestone, flagstone, brick, and pavers.
Water features have the magical ability to turn an ordinary space into a wonderland filled with dramatic waterfalls, serene koi ponds or decorative fountains. In this wonderland, you can relax, unwind, and enjoy quality time with family and friends. These features will become the focal point in your garden with their pleasant sounds and natural ability to attract a range of wildlife. They also provide excellent, hands-on opportunities to teach children about nature. Cedar Run can help transform your property into a tranquil sanctuary with the assistance of one of our designers and professional pond specialists.
The most important rule to follow when trying to implement a successful garden is placing the right plant in the right place. So often we come across landscape designs that are underperforming or just struggling to survive because those plants are unhappy with their living conditions. Our North Wales landscaping company assures you that our experienced and knowledgeable staff will site all plant material where they are most likely to flourish. We will also pay close attention to the quality of the soil that our plantings are placed in.
Whether you have a straightforward design in mind for a small area or you want to incorporate features, such as retaining walls or water elements into a comprehensive project, we provide solid, creative professional work and service. Design-Build is the collaborative process between client, designer, and installation crew. Combining the traditionally separate disciplines of design and installation results in projects that are imaginative yet readily built. Our design staff first works with our clients to develop plans to create the outdoor living spaces they've envisioned.
How does your garden grow? If your flowers and plants could use a boost, we recommend mulching. We use pine needle mulch and organic mulches to hold water in the soil and stop weed growth while making garden areas look beautiful. We use a local source for our triple ground hardwood bark mulch, and incorporate an organic compost into the mulch to enhance biologic activity which aides in the establishment and on-going health of the landscape plantings. Another option for mulching is to use our certified organic compost as a soil covering.
The addition of accent and landscape lighting to your gardens and water features can drastically change the ambiance of your evenings. Let our staff designer plan and manage the installation of your new accent lighting with our trained staff. Additionally, our landscape professionals can provide maintenance for your system to keep it running optimally. We also assess existing landscape lighting installations and make corrections and modifications as needed. Are your fixtures and transformer tested for voltage and amperage upon installation?
