Oceanview Landscape is a full-service provider of residential and commercial landscaping services. We operate all across the East End of Long Island including Westhampton, Southampton, Amagansett, Quogue, East Hampton, Bridgehampton, Sag Harbor and everything in-between.
I had heard oceanview landscapes was hiring for a front desk position, with over ten years experience in the field, I decided to head over and drop my resume off in person. I checked their website to see where they were located. The website said they were still on mariner drive, so I drove over. After not being able to find their office, I gave them a call. An already agitated woman picks up the phone, and say's "oceanview landscapes" I say "Hello I'm looking for your office are you still located on mariner drive?" she says, no we are in watermill now. She doesn't care enough to give me the address. so I say okay, what's your new address? She barks 65 Montauk highway. I then ask her if Anthony is in (the owner) again she barks "what's this about? Do you have an appointment with him?" I said no, no appointment just wondering if he is around, thank you! She hangs up on me. I get to the office, I say hello, smile and say "I just called is Anthony around i'd like to speak to him", she says in her rude tone, "what is this about, and who are you with? Do you have appointment with him?", I said I'm here in regards to the front desk position. My name is Genny, and why are you being so rude to me? What's your problem? She then accuses me of being rude as if I would go seeking employment with some sort of an attitude. What a bizarre concept. I said I was never rude to you, I simply asked where you were located and you were rude to me, but I can see why they need help with you at front desk. She then goes down to grab him, and I hear her loud and clear trash talking and obnoxiously laughing. By the time the owner got upstairs I had been so turned off by this awful excuse for a receptionist and her unprofessional antics that I ultimately ended up leaving disgusted after having to explain what just took place. What if I were a potential client? How do these people call themselves professionals? Glad I never left my resume, they'll be the ones missing out, certainly not me. I will not be recommending this place to a soul.
