EPDM is an extremely durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane widely used in low-slope buildings in the United States and worldwide. EPDM is available in both black and white, however black is its natural color and most readily stocked and utilized. Thicknesses range from 45 to 90 mils with 60 mil being the most commonly utilized. EPDM can be installed fully adhered, mechanically attached or ballasted, with the seams of the roofing system sealed by specially formulated tapes.
