MBTechnology was founded in 1983 and specializes in manufacturing SBS Modified Bitumen Roofing & Underlayment systems. These include a variety of systems, which can be applied through the use of cold adhesives, heat welding, or hot asphalt. The year was 1964. The roofing industry had been stagnant for several decades. The challenge was to improve the performance characteristics of roofing asphalt. While searching for chemicals to improve properties of asphalt, I met Dr. Gorgati, an Italian chemist, who recently invented a new roofing material, the APP modified- bitumen roofing membrane. We immediately began manufacturing and marketing the product throughout Asia. Our facility was, in fact, only the second modified- bitumen manufacturing facility in the world.

MBTechnology's philosophy lies in manufacturing products that are geared to the needs of architects, specifiers, owners, and contractors. This fundamental principle is reflected in our entire line of quality roofing products and systems. MBTechnology produces 7 families of roofing products, by far the most complete line of roofing products produced in the US. We were among the first manufacturers to introduce into the market a fire-rated, heat welded SBS roofing system. We were the pioneers in terms of making SBS underlayment.

We are a medium sized privately held manufacturing company located in the heart of the San Joaquin valley in California. MBTechnology was incorporated in 1981 and started manufacturing their products in 1983. MBTechnology is one of the first pioneers in the field of modified bitumen, primarily used for roofing and waterproofing.
