We do pretty much the whole spectrum of electrical work. This includes custom homes, tract homes, light commercial, remodels, repairs, underground, landscape lighting and low voltage work. This is our #1 area by far. We do work for individuals who are building their own home. We have a lot of contractors who build 3 to 10 high end homes a year - either as specs or for their own individual clients. We do high end tract homes. These are tract homes only in the sense that they are built in a community of 10 - 50 houses in one area.
My # 1 concern when putting together a company was to look at people's attitude before I looked at what kind of an electrician they might be. To this day that is the driving force behind what kind of people we hire. An employee needs to be a good person first before we figure out what kind of worker they might be. You can teach work habits and electrical ability. Your overall attitude is something that you have inside you. You can't teach that. You either are a good person or you're not. Over the years this philosophy has allowed me to put together a crew of guys that are good to work with.
