Higgins Electric was established in 1932 by Josh Higgins. Josh saw a need for an electrical contractor to serve the region surrounding Dothan, Alabama. At a time when many were struggling to find employment, he left his job in Montgomery, AL to start a new business in Dothan. Josh ran the company for 22 years until his son Wayne took over In 1954. Wayne continued to grow the business while at the helm adding capabilities and expanding our service area. In 1988 he retired and sold the business to the present day owners.

Higgins Electric designs and builds complete control systems as part of the fabrication and construction of electrical panels. Our control system engineers are capable of designing, fabricating and constructing: control panels, electrical control design, PLC programming, and Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming. Our team of trained and experience staff includes programmers, designers, panel builders, and support personnel are all involved in producing our complete solution for our customers.
