Hughes Plumbing & Utility Contractors, Inc. has contracted for many types of construction, from demolition, excavation, sewer, water, storm sewer, new pump station installations, pump station renovations, horizontal jack and bores, horizontal directional bores, Onsite Waste Water Treatment Plants, asphalting and concrete installations all self-performed by HPUC. With our wide range of experience and owned equipment we can handle any type of utility installation. Our excavator fleet ranges from 3.5 metric ton to 30 metric ton excavators including a 30 metric ton long reach excavator which allows us to handle any/type, any/depth utility installation.
Hughes Plumbing & Utility Contractors, Inc. (HPUC) was founded by Preston W. Hughes III in April of 1997. Preston is the youngest of six sons of Preston W. Hughes Jr., one of the first African Americans to be licensed as a Master Plumber in the state of Alabama. Three of the brothers are licensed Master Plumbers; the others have Journeyman Plumber's Certificates. HPUC has contracted for many types of construction, from demolition work to excavation.
