The Maryland Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors Association, an Affiliate of the National Association of Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, is a membership & trade organization with superior quality and service to the PHC industry since 1883. We offer seminars and educational programs, backflow certification training, apprenticeship training and Journeymen / Master Gas training. During the 1880s, the transition from outhouses to indoor plumbing was moving at a rapid pace, starting with better homes and commercial buildings. The burgeoning market for indoor plumbing spurred some gasfitters and other metal workers to specialize in this work. The true craftsmen sought ways to distinguish those who knew what they were doing from those who didn't. In 1882, a group of these new tradesmen in New York City banded together to form the Master Plumbers Association of New York. Shortly afterward, a like-minded group joined forces in Brooklyn.
The QSC is the leading international professional association serving an elite group of plumbing and HVACR service and repair contractors. We offer our members across North America business management services and state-of-the-art training to enhance their image and to enable them to better serve the needs of their clients. Established in 1994, QSC functions as a self-supporting business unit of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling-Contractors National Association. QSC maintains its own Board of Trustees, budget and program/project priorities.
