Champion Aluminum Corp. was founded in 1952 as a manufacturer and supplier of storm windows and doors. In 1968 Champion moved to Syosset, New York, in response to growth in its business and customer base. The building in Syosset was the headquarters for Champion's manufacturing of storm windows and doors until 1983, at which point the evolving market caused a shift in focus to replacement windows with the development and successful launch of its Series 2500 tilt-in double hung window. Due to the large increase in sales resulting from the success of its newly introduced replacement line, Champion expanded its facility in 1984 from 30,000 square feet to 45,000 square feet.
