Family owned and operated, Allen Chimneys, LLC will service any and all of your chimney and fireplace maintenance needs, whether you need an annual heating flue cleaning or a fireplace sweep, a certification, an installation of a wood stove insert, vent free gas logs, a gas fireplace insert, a chimney cap, or stainless steel chimney liner, any type of restoration or exterior repair, or you simply need an inspection done on your chimney.
According to the Chimney Sweeping Institute of America or CSIA, a level 1 inspection should examine the readily accessible portions of the chimney exterior, interior and accessible portions of the appliance and the chimney connection. Your technician will be looking for the basic soundness of the chimney structure and flue as well as the basic appliance installation and connections. The technician will also verify the chimney is free of obstruction and combustible deposits. According to the CSIA, a level 2 inspection includes everything in a Level 1 inspection, plus the accessible portions of the chimney exterior and interior including attics, crawl spaces and basements.
The National Fire Protection Association or NFPA recommends having the chimney that services your furnace, hot water heater, and/or boiler cleaned and inspected annually, whether gas or oil fueled. During a furnace, hot water heater, or boiler flue cleaning, Allen Chimneys' fully trained technicians will begin the sweep by removing the pipes from the appliances. Second, they'll sweep the flue with a fitted brush multiple times. Next, they will clean out all the debris from the base of the chimney.
Whether it's for your hot water heater, furnace, boiler, wood burning fireplace flue, free standing wood stove, or wood stove insert, let the professionals at Allen Chimneys make sure that your chimney is properly lined! According to NFPA. 211, If the flue liner in a chimney has softened, cracked, or otherwise deteriorated so that it no longer has the continued ability to contain the products of combustion (i.e., heat, moisture, creosote, and flue gases), the liner shall be either removed and replaced, re- paired, or relined with a listed liner system or other approved material that will resist corrosion, softening, or cracking from flue gases at temperatures appropriate to the class of chimney service.
