In 1999, Gary R Ickes II purchased the business. Gary R Ickes II became an ISA Certified Arborist in 1999. Gary became the first I.S.A. Although we consider every option to preserve your trees, sometimes due to generally poor condition, inappropriate location, unacceptable risk or other criteria, removal is simply the best management option. Some removal projects are quite routine, while others require highly technical skills including working around utility lines, complex rigging or the use of large cranes. Ickes Tree Service employees arborists and tree workers with all the skills necessary to safely complete the most difficult and hazardous removals.
One basic housekeeping chore that might help a struggling tree would be pruning. Pruning is an oft-needed maintenance treatment for good tree health and safety but pruning without a good reason is not good tree care practice. Pruning just because your neighbor is doing it may not be beneficial for the tree and could result in too much live tree tissue being removed. This can cause the tree to become stressed, and perhaps decline. In the fall, limit the amount of live tissue being removed and focus mainly on removing dead or broken branches.
Gary is one of the best tree guys I know. He has promoted tree care safety from day one. I'm a better tree man because of him. Thanks Gary.
Well equipped for getting the job done, I recommend.
Ickes Tree Service is absolutely top notch! Gary and his crew were courteous, respectful, and responsive to all our needs. His experience and passion for trees, as well as being a Master Arborist, was much appreciated. Would highly recommend Gary and crew for any of your tree needs!
"When you go out into the woods, and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent .. you sort of understand that it didn't get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don't get all emotional about it. You just allow it.
We received an emergency call yesterday about a tree on a roof. We were able to remove the tree from the roof. The client had a call in to their roofer for repair. The photos show the decay that was present in the tree and that caused the failure. Inspect your trees using the info at treesaregood.or...
Another root excavation and circling/ girdling root removal. Please don't mound soil or mulch around your trees, it will prevent you having to spend money to correct or the decline of the tree. If you have a question about this, please give us a call at 251-945-5144. @ Gulf Shores, Alabama
