We bought a house with an arbor that was installed in 2019 that was peeling away from the house. We contacted Mark and while our repair job was a bit too small for his crew to be sent out (or rather it would be too expensive and he didn't want us to overpay), Mark took the time to look at the pictures I sent him and talk to me on the phone for 10 minutes and give me a lot of great advice for next steps. He also offered to help personally if we couldn't find anyone else to do the work (but we did find someone). I was really appreciative of his friendly demeanor and willingness to spend his time and give advice. He came across as an honest person who really cares about his customers and neighbors. I'd recommend you strongly consider his company for your project!

I cannot recommend this company enough! For over a year, I interviewed various companies to rebuild my multi-level deck (huge project). After reviewing several proposals and personally meeting the company managers, I decided to go with M & M Builders... and I'm SO glad I did! Mark is not only incredibly nice, but his proposals are very thorough and his work is beyond excellent. His guys started the project on time every single day and never left the job site early. They ensured the place was cleaned up at the end of each day and did their best not to bother my family during the whole process. Everyone who worked on the project was so very nice and respectful. The best part is that I am far more impressed with my new deck than I ever expected! It's absolutely beautiful and very well built. I've already recommended this company to my family members and friends, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in building a new deck or having their deck re-built. Fair prices, excellent customer service, and very high quality work!

Mark and his expert team have done two excellent deck rebuild jobs for us in the last decade. The thing I like best about them is their commitment to always doing the job right. There aren't any shortcuts taken. If the job takes them an extra day to finish, they will take the time to finish it right, while still respecting the original bid price. Mark is careful to consider all the local code and safety requirements when doing the design, and he discusses each option with the homeowner in detail. The team is careful in their approach, respects your property, and cleans up meticulously when they're finished.

Wow - Mark came and gave us an estimate and asked us about all sorts of features that no one else had mentioned, but all of which were critical components of the finished deck. I can pretty much guaranty that we would have been frustrated with any others that might have built the deck because it either would have been majorly inferior or we would have had constant changes.

Instead, thanks to Mark's expertise and knowledge, the deck construction went so smoothly and the finished project is better than we ever imagined. We absolutely love it - and Mark and his guys were great. On time every day, quiet, nice, cleaned up every evening before they left. Juan and George were so nice and are so very, very good at what they do.

Thank you Yelp for another fantastic find. M & M Builders can't be beat IMO. They are in high demand, not surprisingly because their work is so spectacular, but they are worth any wait you might have. We are so glad we went with them because it truly couldn't have been any better.

Mark is worthy of the highest rating. He's been honest, thorough, respectful, comprehensive, timely - and that's just through the quote process. Look at his reviews and look at his website and see the care and quality that he builds into his work. If you need a deck, M & M is the place to get one that will likely outlast you.

If you want to get a sense of the kind of person Mark is, just read the review from B.R. and then read Mark's respectful and factual response. In my interactions with Mark, this is completely consistent with my personal experience as well. I asked him opinion of a particular brand of composite material. He recounted an major issue he ran into with them but instead of saying anything negative about them, he just stated he was happy to use it if the customer requests it but unfortunately he would not be able to guarantee the material.

It's pretty amazing to come across someone that goes out of their way not to talk trash about someone that has hurt them and instead unemotionally talks facts. I think we need more of this in our world today.

So in full transparency, I have not built a deck with Mark, YET. But I'm actively looking to get one done by him. I'll update this review once the deck is complete, but given my experience with him so far, I'm confident that will be remain 5 stars, I'll just have more specific information to share about the deck, the install, and the build.

We had an excellent experience designing and building our deck and arbor with Mark and M&M Builders. Our redwood deck was nearing 40 years old and needed to be replaced. We had dreamed for years about having an arbor and covering so that we could have shade, and some protection from the elements for our deck furniture. M&M was referred to us by a friend who had a deck and arbor built by M&M several years ago. We liked what M&M had built for them, so we called to talk about our project. The first time we called M&M, Mark picked up the phone himself and we had a productive conversation. We immediately sent photos of our current deck and yard to follow up our phone conversation. Mark responded with a follow-up phone call, shared his ideas, and came out to our home to talk about his ideas and our ideas in more detail. Mark has built decks and arbors for a long time, and has a wealth of experience, ideas, and creativity. However he carefully listened to what we were trying to accomplish. He did a great job of taking our input and adding his creativity and experience to come up with a design that worked. Our bid was detailed and we were ale to understand the breakdown of the elements of our project, and the cost of different options we were considering. Mark worked with us to design our deck that fit with our house, and created a space that has both shade and sun, while maintaining outdoor light levels we wanted coming into our rooms.

Mark and his crew were very professional, respected our time, and always arrived when they said they would. We never had prolonged instances of "phone tag" or difficulties getting a hold of Mark. There was never any waiting or hoping for someone to show up or to return a phone call or e-mail. Communication with Mark could not have been easier, and we always knew what to expect, and what decisions needed to be made. Mark and his crew kept the project area clean and respected our yard. Once the project started, things progressed quickly. We made a couple of changes along the way and Mark was easy to work with to implement those changes. We developed a good working relationship with Mark, and we could see that our goals and his were aligned around making the completed project something we would all love. Mark and his crew paid attention to every detail. The craftsmanship and attention to detail he describes on the M&M website and in the bid are reflected in the quality of the final product. The big things like the framing and supports, and the smaller things like the hidden fasteners, board spacing, and care in precision fit of the Trex Transcend deck boards all came together to create a deck and arbor that we will be enjoying for many years. We highly recommend Mark and M&M.
