Basements and crawl spaces are culprits for air leakage and cold air infiltration. Insulating and air sealing with Basement & Crawl Space insulation is the key to addressing that cold air that can even be making the rooms above uncomfortable. It is critical to air seal around the perimeter of your foundation where so much outside cold air can enter your home. For basement & crawlspace insulation, we recommend Spray Foam Insulation. Fiberglass batts do not air seal and can actually absorb moisture, fall down, and create a home for pests.
Polyurethane Spray Foam Insulation provides some of the best insulating performance possible by effectively minimizing the culprits that cause heat gain or loss in your commercial building convection, conduction, radiation, air infiltration, air intrusion and moisture accumulation. Spray Foam Insulation is also effective for sound attenuation. We use best-in-class open and closed-cell spray foam insulation products installed by our team of SPFA certified professionals.
Adding blown in cellulose attic insulation to your attic can also help to keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer, while saving you money on energy costs. This is part of our process to protect and maintain the thermal boundary of your home; separating the conditioned space (living area that you want to keep heated and cooled) from the unconditioned space. Many homes have inadequate insulation-often none at all, in older homes! Or, your attic may be insulated with fiberglass batts that are doing a poor job.
If you have an attic there's a good chance you're losing much of your heating and cooling through your attic. According to the Department of Energy (DOE), more than 80% of homes built prior to 1980 have little or no insulation, and attic insulation is usually where you'll get "the most bang for your buck." Choosing the right insulation product for your attic can have a large impact on your home's energy efficiency, comfort and indoor air quality. Since heat rises, an under-insulated attic can send a good chunk of your home heat through the roof.
Don't get left in the cold this year. Insulate your walls to ensure you and your family stay warm all winter with Spray Foam, Blown in Fiberglass or Cellulose Insulation. Even if your exterior walls have sheetrock or plaster on the inside and wood, brick, vinyl, or aluminum siding on the outside, it's not too late to add insulation to your walls. Chances are you have 2″x4″ or 2″x6″ framing and even if the walls were insulated with fiberglass batts during construction, there is only so much material that could fit in that wall space (typically R-11 to 13) and those fiberglass batts have deteriorated over time, to an R value of 1 to 4.
A great company to help make your home feel cozy. Professional staff. Excellent work.
Do you live in Connecticut? For a limited time, if you participate in the Home Energy Solutions Program and have an in-home energy assessment, you can be eligible for rebates of $2.20 per sq ft for insulating many areas such as attic floors, walls, basement and garage ceilings and rim joists....
