Came by for a quote to do a whole bunch of work under our pier and beam foundation. He gave his honest assessment and how we can solve the issue without extraneous work that we were thinking of doing. He did not think of just making a profit or suggesting a bandaid but actually made suggestions on trying to helping us eliminate the problem at hand. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I needed expert advice about foundation issues to know whether or not to purchase a $200k home I was sold on. Vantage Foundation Repair had good reviews and Derk was able to meet our timetable, arriving exactly as scheduled. Derk was able to point out some issues I hadn't considered, having to do with the plumbing, that went beyond the visible foundation problems. His evaluation and expertise provided exactly the information I needed. It was the best $75 I could have spent and undoubtedly helped me avoid MAJOR expense in the future. Because of this, if I should ever needed someone for foundation work in the future, I will call on Vantage.
P.S. Another foundation co. offering a free eval was comparatively lacking in expertise, and their eval/ estimate did not address underlying issues that would almost surely have caused a reversal of any foundation work completed.

I had recently noticed some cracks in my walls so I started the "dreadful" process of getting some foundation repair quotes. I had 4 companies come over to give me quotes. One company was pushy and "highly recommended repair immediately", one was about 50% higher in price vs the others and then there was Derk with Vantage Foundation. He was the second lowest of the 4 bids and he told me that my house was in great condition and that yes there were some foundation issues but that I could wait a few years to get it done or I could tackle it now. I felt this showed extreme honesty and he was extremely knowledgeable of what he was talking about. So I decided to go with Derk and it was such an effortless and pleasant process. He walked me through the entire job step by step and was in contact with me throughout the entire process. His crew was very professional and trustworthy. They had some soggy weather during the process but they still managed to leave my yard in the same condition (if not better) than they found it. I had a concrete walkway to my backyard they had to tear up to place a beam and when the job was complete he had a guy come back and put it back together and you couldn't even tell it had been worked on. I know foundation work is a stressful process but Derk and his his crew made it relaxed and uncomplicated. I do not write a ton of reviews but Derk and Vantage Foundation definitely deserved high praise for their work on my house!

James from Vantage came out to quote a foundation repair on our 1930's house today. He was on time, courteous and honest in his appraisal of our situation. He is not only personable but also very professional.
When it came to our house, he educated us on preventative measures as well as various remedies to get our already out of whack house back to level. Vantage even does soil grading to help keep the water away from the house - as he explained, water is the number one cause of foundation shifting and the reason our house has become unlevel.
Being a first time homeowner, I suspected that something like a foundation repair would be a huge expense. However, the quotes for each solution James suggested sound very reasonable for the amount of work they will be doing.
I recommend Vantage to anyone needing honest answers about foundation issues. And I'll update this review to speak to the repairs once they are completed.

I was in the process of buying a home and my home inspector suggested I call Derk to have him assess my foundation. Derk came out and after conducting a pretty thorough inspection he reassured me that the foundation looked pretty good. He gave me great advice on how to stop further erosion at one side of the house. He thought I could take steps to prevent future issues, but there was absolutely no hard sell. While most companies would have balked at providing me with their honest opinion or would have tried to use scare tactics to pressure me into doing work right away, Derk's honesty was refreshing and reassuring. When I decide have work done on the house I will definitely be calling Derk to do the work and I will recommend him to anyone who needs work done.
