Pruning is one of the most important and overlooked parts of tree care. Proper tree pruning promotes tree health and vigorous growth by removing dead and diseased limbs, thinning crowded areas, removing crossing and interfering limbs, and promoting a strong, healthy, and natural tree structure. At Patriot Tree Company, we specialize in tree pruning and tree climbing methods that ensure as minimal damage as possible to the tree while still accomplishing the goals of the prune. We follow guidelines and best practices approved by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
The best way to remove a stump is to grind it out. Stump grinders use a large spinning wheel with hard sharp teeth that pulverize the stump into mulch while they rotate. As the wheel spins, it has carbide teeth that cut the stump. The stump grinder then sweeps from one direction to the other and the teeth cut and grind the stump. Check out the video below showing Adam grinding a big crabapple stump in Boulder. Patriot Tree Company is a locally owned and operated tree service that is committed to providing the highest quality stump removal at an affordable price.
As you can probably imagine we have plenty of wood and mulch! We take great pride in the quality of our firewood and our customers are always happy. All wood is cut to 18 inches or less in length so it fits in most wood stoves and fireplaces. Our wood is a mixed batch of everything that grows in CO. Elm, locust, ash, maple, and cottonwood is what makes up the majority of the mix. We sell split firewood by the cord. One cord of wood is measured at 128 cubic feet of wood. This is the most proper and consistent way of measuring firewood.
One of the most gratifying things we do at Patriot Tree Company is to plant new trees. We especially love to plant a new tree after a removal. When you hire us you get much more than just a tree planted in your yard. We give you a full consultation in which you can tell us what you're looking for in a tree. After the consultation, we will give you suggestions and help you choose the right species for your application. We then go to the nursery and an ISA Certified Arborist will select the perfect tree.
Patriot Tree Company is a fully licensed and insured tree service company that has been providing high quality tree services to the north Denver metro and Boulder area communities since 2010. Founded by retired Army Special Forces Green Beret Keith Boarman, the company's focus was to provide a high level of service at an affordable and fair price to the community. Since then, Keith has passed the torch and put the company in the hands of Erik Gustafson, Richard Koss, Dan Stone, and Michael Smith, who now own and operate the company.
We are finished up at Thompson Park in Longmont, what cool trees to get to work on. This ash was on it's way out and very rotten at the base, removing it freed up valuable space for it's much healthier and structurally sound neighbors. Our next big municipal project is in the City of Boulder, where...
In case you didn't know, the team of Justin Nair (climber), Daniel Stone (crane operator), and Mike Mahaffey (ground operations) get trees down safely and efficiently. These half dead willows were along a ditch in this clients back yard and were overhanging the house and fence. Now they are not. Job well done boys.
While most of Colorado is shut down, we have been out at Thompson Park in Longmont getting these green ash trees safe and ready for the summer season. We are able to continue working (for now) during the Stay at Home order since our operations are considered "critical services necessary to maintain...
