As your partner in business, our goal is to help you efficiently establish electric service. You can do it online, or by contacting our Business Solutions Center (1-888-655-5888). We can connect your service Monday through Friday; connection is not available on weekends. Orders submitted during normal business hours Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. are eligible for next-day service. Please note that we will not be able to provide next-day service for new service requests requiring installation or other construction work (digging, etc.).

Our Georgia Power outdoor lighting team has the knowledge and experience to design systems to fit your needs - whether that's a few lights or a complete system. We provide quality, reliability and value in outdoor lighting anywhere in the state, even if your electricity is not provided by Georgia Power.

The future of solar is bright in Georgia, and Georgia Power is leading the way in making our state a national leader in solar energy. To help meet our customers' growing electricity needs, Georgia Power is committed to using reliable, cost-effective, renewable energy sources that work best in our state.

Flowing water referred to as Hydropower is the most widely used renewable energy source in the world. Hydropower generates less pollution than fuel-burning power generation methods and creates public recreational areas and new habitats for wildlife. Georgia Power owns 15 lakes for hydroelectricity generation which, combined, offer thousands of acres of shoreline with public access areas. Enjoy everything from swimming to hiking trails, and see the beauty of our state. The Lloyd Shoals Project is one of Georgia Power's oldest hydroelectric generating plants consisting of Lloyd Shoals Dam and Lake Jackson.

Power generated from current coal resources is an important part of Georgia Power's diversified generation portfolio. In our role as stewards of our environment, Georgia Power has invested significantly in cleaner emissions technology and the expansion of alternative energy sources like solar and nuclear power. Through 2016, Georgia Power invested over $5 billion to equip our coal-fired power plants with the latest environmental controls to reduce emissions of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and mercury.

Georgia Power is committed to providing clean, affordable energy and protecting and preserving the environment. We're taking the necessary precautions to manage closing our ash ponds, monitoring ground water conditions and properly disposing of Coal Combustion Residuals (CCRs). Under Subpart D, 40 CFR, Part 257, the new rule establishes minimum national criteria for determining which solid waste disposal facilities and solid waste management practices do not pose a reasonable probability of adverse effects on health or the environment.

Each year we publish a variety of reports concerning both our financial performance and our performance in other facets of our business. We publish our SEC filing, annual report and information statement on our website for the public. View and download reports and information here. Georgia Power reports only the null energy output from some renewable generating facilities. Ownership of the associated renewable energy credits (RECs) is specified in each respective power purchase agreement or program tariff.

Service can be connected at your new residence every day except weekends and business holidays. Next-day service is available for requests entered before midnight, excluding new service requests requiring installation or other construction work (digging, etc.). Service can be disconnected at your new home every day except weekends and business holidays. Next-day service is available for requests submitted before midnight. We will disconnect electric service at your existing address and have your service connected at your new address on the date that you request.

Our diverse portfolio includes traditional energy resources and renewable energy generated from natural resources that replenish naturally over time (such as sunlight, wind and rivers). This allows us to provide reliable, safe and affordable energy to our customers. Georgia Power's renewable development team is striving to ensure that Georgia Power is at the forefront of one of the most exciting parts of the utility industry. A Renewable Energy Certificate (REC), sometimes called a renewable energy credit, represents the renewable attributes of energy produced from a renewable energy facility.
