At Kimminau Floors, we know that installing a new wood floor is a big decision and we've created an extensive checklist to make sure it's done right. To start with, we will have your new hardwood planks delivered several days before the scheduled installation date so that the wood can acclimate to the environment in your home. Skipping the acclimation step may result in unsightly gaps or possible cupping from hardwood expansion. John and I make it a point to walk-through at the end of each project to insure that our clients are receiving a quality product that is on par with the standards that we have set.
A minimum of 24 hours is recommended before returning to the residence. Providing good ventilation will minimize the odor and help the floor finish cure faster. You can generally walk on the floor after 24 hours. However, you should use your floors with care for the first two weeks after application. The more gentle you are on the floor during this time, the more satisfaction you will get from your floors for years to come. Cleaning - Do not use water or any cleaning substances on the floor for the first two to three weeks.

Kimminau Floors just completed the Clean and Coat process for our tired and scratched wood floors and we are extremely happy with the results. Our floors had tons of scratches, water damage and overall dullness. They were able to buff out so many more scratches and damaged spots than we expected. It really rejuvenated the look of the floors at half the cost of refinishing. Ben suggested a satin finish (ours was shiny before) and it looks amazing. Tom and Will were extremely nice and professional throughout the entire process. They went above and beyond with moving the furniture and even helped take apart, move to the basement and put back together our old dining table. We would definitely recommend them to anyone!
