Nicholas Roofing did an amazing job on our house! Contractors are so busy these days, but we called Nick to come out for an estimate in July. They had done some patchwork for us a few years earlier and I really liked how they operated, so when it was time to do the entire roof, we were eager to work with them.
Nick gave us a comprehensive estimate with a fair price and reasonable timeline. Flash forward to November and one crew arrived on Wednesday for the tear-off and the roofing crew arrived on Thursday. TWO days! Our neighbors were blown away as were we. The crews were polite, friendly, efficient, and let everything clean as it could be.
Now our neighbor wants to work with them. The way our neighborhood works with referrals, we might keep Nicholas Roofing busy for quite a bit!
Thank you, Nick, Scott, and the amazing crews. We loved your work.
I've had a great experience working with Nicholas Roofing for a number of small roofing projects/issues. They've been quick and willing to send someone out for small jobs (adding a plumbing penetration and fixing a small skylight leak) for a fair and reasonable price. After both of these jobs they always followed up by email to see how things went, and have since even helped me troubleshoot a separate leak via e-mail. It is so hard to find reliable contractors these days and even more so for small jobs. I've had such a positive experience that I will for sure be using Nicholas Roofing when I eventually need a new roof (soon).
Nicholas has been our go to roofer for a few years now. We started with them fixing a significant leak that stumped four other contractors and just had them replace our whole roof. The bid was quick and simple and their price was reasonable. We asked for extra venting for a whole house fan and they were happy to help out. Their crew tore the roof off on Friday and was done removing the old roof before noon. Their install crew started Monday afternoon and was done by Tuesday at the end of the day. They asked questions as needed and the roof looks amazing! They also installed gutter guards on the gutters under our neighbor's oak tree and cleaned out the gutters before they left. Thank you Nicholas roofing!
We had our residence in Berkeley reroofed for the second time in 25 years by Nicholas and are very satisfied. Even with the constraints of Covid and wildfire smoke, workers showed up on time, did the work well, safely, and all at a more than competitive price. We had some additional wood repair that was done on a time and materials basis at a fair price.
This roofing installation was done in two phases in coordination with a solar company. The timing and coordination were fine and required very little intervention from us.
Both Nicholas management and workers communicated well and responded to questions and concerns. Recommended.
Nicholas roofing did an excellent and efficient job replacing my roof. I decided to go with them because a friend had had several roofs replaced by them and many years later they were still in great shape. When I thought I might have a leak a few years after the complete roof replacement, they came out and thoroughly checked the attic and shingles-everything was still watertight. Great experience and excellent follow-up. Did not run across any problems with communication.
Lovely family owned business. They were professional, incredibly knowledgeable, approachable, and helpful every step of the way. They repaired dry rot, insulated attic, replaced roof, added new gutters and downspouts. All was done in the time frame given, as well as very good clean up. I was the second of 3 of my neighbors, on our small portion of the block, to have work done in the past couple months. Also, several other neighbors have had roofs replaced by them over the past several years. To top it off, the actual amount for final project was less than the estimate. Working with Nicholas Roofing was an absolute pleasure. I've never been so excited with a roofing project as I was with this one.
Owner came out and looked at roof of my house and my studio for some simple maintenance. He took pictures of what was needed. Charged me the minimum amount ($250) for what turned out to be the work of one man for about an hour-and-a half. I have done the same thing myself for 10 years, and a little more thoroughly from what I observed; however I am getting old and figured it would be a good idea to fall off my roof. :) I called the office while the worker was here, and asked if he was doing all he was suppose to. I was assured that he was experienced and good at what he did.
Why the four star review? Primarily, because a different roofer was going to charge me considerably more, and he merely looked at my studio roof from my house roof. He said everything was OK. The Nicholas owner actually went up to the studio roof, and took a picture of what needed adhesive. Roofs are something that most home owners know little about and the work is out of sight. One has to trust the roofing company. Based on my experience, Nicholas Roofing was more careful about inspection and did not try to overcharge me. Business do have many hidden expenses, so I think the bid was fair. I will definitely ask them for a bid for work I need in the future.
Nicholas Roofing completely replaced my roof a few years ago. Everything went perfectly. Recently I got a persistent leak in my garage. Nick Cosenza is now President of Nicholas Roofing and faced this pesky problem head on. His longterm employees fixed the leak during a series of major storms. Warning if you have a roof with a small pitch: The shingles for a roof with a tiny pitch need to be considered carefully. The shingles I purchased were relatively new on the market and perhaps not the best choice for my particular roof.
We were looking into getting our roof replaced about 2 years ago when the roof had a small leak. We called a guy from another company to get the leak repaired and he charged us $500 for about 5 minutes of his time. Then last year the leak got even bigger so I'm not sure if he actually repaired it or not.
So, we decided to look for another company who we could trust to replace the whole roof and that's how we ended up with Nicholas Roofing. They were highly recommended by the guys who redid our foundation, because the previous owner of our home, trusted some cheap labor company that went out of business to originally fix the foundation.
When we originally asked how soon they could get the roof replaced, they told us that they were booked for the entire summer since El NiƱo has brought extra rain this year.
We were on schedule to get our roof replaced by August, so I had to keep praying that our roof doesn't leak again with all the extra rain. Luckily, someone called to reschedule their repair and we got our roof replaced before Memorial Day weekend.
The whole process took about 4 days. They started the job on Monday afternoon and completed everything by Thursday and the city came to inspect it on Friday. We are happy with the work and I am very happy that I don't have to worry about another leak for 30 years. Peace of mind is definitely worth every dollar spent!
Rock stars. easy to deal with. do exactly what they say they're going to do.
After an unsucessful attempt to get Acker & Gurerro to show up or return phone calls (see review) i called Nicholas. They were great on the phone, followed up the appointment with email reminders, and were prompt and thorough. We grabbed a hose and sprayed it on the roof to determine the exact location of the leak, pretty much exactly where i thought it was. They said no problem to patch that, you don't need to re-roof, it's in good condition. One of their guys came in two days and patched it for $100.
$100
Acker & Guerrero thought nothing of hard selling me into replacing my entire roof at, like 70 or 80 times that. wow. Nice to know some people still have ethics.
