Most homes have smoke detectors that utilize ionization technology to detect the presence of fire. Tests continually show that ionization technology is very slow to detect a smoldering type of fire and often will not alarm at all, in time for safe escape. The technology used in our new Special Optics detectors have proven to detect a smoldering fire much faster, PLUS they actually "see" the smoke, virtually eliminating false alarms. In 2007-2011, smoke alarms sounded in half of the home fires reported to U.S. fire departments.
TruWatch offers high-quality fire extinguishers in two and five pound sizes for easy handling plus large 10 pound sizes for garages and barns. All of TruWatch's aluminum valves, levers and internal components are anodized beyond the salt spray requirements of Underwriter's Laboratories. Brass valve bodies are chrome plated with stainless steel handles and levers. All valves are precision manufactured to comply with ISO 9001 requirements. Portable fire extinguisher valves (except 2.5 lb.units, which have wall brackets) have hook-eyes with wall hooks to assure secure mounting.
TruWatchMonitored Systems are the most versatile and sophisticated smoke detection available for residential applications. Our smoke detector is powered by a pair of replaceable lithium batteries with a 10 year life expectancy. A recent surge in legislation being passed at both the state and jurisdiction level across the country emphasizes the importance of carbon monoxide (CO) alarms in all residences that use fossil fuels. Almost 500 deaths a year and over 15,000 people seeking medical attention* are attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning and could be prevented if carbon monoxide alarms were installed.
If someone had kept this fire hydrant clear of snow, water could get on the fire faster. That means less damage and possibly saving a life. For the sake of your own home and your neighbor’s, please dig out the closest fire hydrant.
