After all the design and strategy have been approved, we move to fabrication. During this process, we order in the materials and hardware as we begin production in our 10,000 sqft shop. Unlike most shops, all of our millwork and cabinetry is sprayed and finished with two coats of primer followed by two top coats - this lengthy process not only ensures the durability and quality of our final product but it also creates a truly impeccable, glass-like finish. Using a combination of in-house equipment as well as hand finishing techniques we ensure a balance that maintains the high quality that has come to be known of the Scott Arthur name.

Scott Arthur Millwork went over and beyond my expectations on our house renovations. When researching companies to complete our kitchen and main floor renovations we came across Scott Arthur Millwork. The first thing I noticed was actually the reviews online and the fact that people were willing to sit down and write in depth reviews of the outstanding work they completed. The photos alone speak volumes, but to me the relationship with the company is just as important. The work that they do is truly an art form that I would personally not trust anyone but the professional staff at Scott Arthur. From the initial contact with owner, Shawn Tiltgen, my wife and I were impressed with his experience and knowledge in the industry. We met his team for the first time at the shop (which is impressive all on its own) and had an opportunity to sit down and discuss our potential project with them all.
We found Scott Arthur price wise came in higher then other quotes, however seeing their shop and discussing with them, their process, materials and the quality of the end result pretty much solidified our decision. There was no question after that initial meeting with Shawn and his team, that they were for us. Over the period of design Shawn and Will came out to our house numerous times to look at the site, take measurement and this gave us a chance to discuss details that we wanted. Throughout the project, whenever we had questions or requested changes Shawn and his team were there and always ensured that we were happy. The quality and craftsmanship of the cabinets were outstanding.
Moving on to the install, once again by no surprise the installers were masters of their trade. Although we had not previously met with them, they were professional throughout the whole process. We were still living onsite (in our basement) and with two young children. They were respectful to our requests and ensured the site was clean and safe throughout the renovations. Also worth mentioning, we had brand new hardwood flooring installed previous to the cabinet install and they ensured extra caution was taken there as well. We also had a very large feature wall in our kitchen where we found the installers took extra time with us to customize trim details to feature our hood fan. We were given many different options (look wise) on the trim before we decided to go with the one we did but they mocked up a few right in our driveway for us to make the final decision. They wanted to ensure once again that everything was exactly what we wanted.
Without a doubt, I would refer Shawn and his team to anyone that asked. In fact we have referred Scott Arthur Millwork to many people already. Whenever we have someone in our house for the first time, or for that matter, the tenth time, they mention our kitchen and how beautiful it is! The investment is a large one (financially and emotionally) but the final product that you will receive from Scott Arthur Millwork is worth it.

We worked with Scott Arthur over a year ago for our kitchen, bar, and family room cabinets. In the end, they not only provided an extremely high-quality product but when we had questions or wanted to be apart of the process they were easy to get ahold of, always returned our calls, and came out to our house to discuss our thoughts and questions in person.
Will in the shop, couldn't be more knowledgable when it came to the cabinets, and Shawn (the owner) really took pride in being the companies #1 customer service guru. It was very refreshing to deal with the person in charge no matter what we asked. He also came through for us with extras that we didn't ask for like air intake/vent covers and trim pieces that weren't associated with our cabinets...but he said they finished the look and they did!
I'll admit here I waited till our warranty period was up to write this honest review....because of COVID-19 and our 1 year period being over I wasn't sure if he'd be as eager to respond to our calls BUT he was! He called us back that day, Justin (the shop paint/stain guy) came out the following week and polished up all the odds and ends that were missed after the install was completed.
This was my husband and I's first project with Scott Arthur. We got 4 quotes when we initially started looking. Scott Author was $25k more $$ than the two cheapest quotes and $10k more than the closes quote we could get to him. The decision for us came down to the 3 guys who you saw working at this small business (I'm sure there are a few more) every day doing the quality of work you see in magazines! We just knew the product was of the highest quality and would be installed and exceed our expectations, rather than saving $10k (I'm sure we would have been dinged on upcharges/change orders/redo's though) on a $55k project and 2nd guessing our decision. We received all 1" thick drawer fronts, soft close everything, garbage cans were provided, numerous additional shelves were thrown in for our uppers, we never felt nickel and dimed, Shawn even coordinated our countertops and made sure we had our appliances lined up on time too.
We have recommended them for a number of other friends' projects and will be working with them again when we move onto our next renovation!
