At Tucson Asphalt, we spent more than 13 years developing Green Asphalt. It's our exclusive, patent-pending product that uses a special rubber binder to provide superior asphalt pavement while saving money and natural resources. Just like all materials, asphalt pavements deteriorate over time. So, occasional maintenance is necessary in order to ensure that your pavements provide the longest life and best service. It was a pleasure collaborating with Tucson Asphalt to find a way to utilize the Green Asphalt product in a way that was consistent with the requirements of our procurement regulations.
We're Tucson's best choice when it comes to paving surfaces which are especially challenging, such as sports courts and running tracks, or steep and curving roads, or narrow pathways. Just like all materials, asphalt pavements deteriorate over time. So, occasional maintenance is necessary in order to ensure that your pavements provide the longest life and best service.
Sealcoat is a liquid applied in order to protect asphalt pavement from sunlight, weather oxidation and damage from traffic. Tucson Asphalt is southern Arizona's leader in seal coating, and we routinely use this process to protect roads, driveways, parking lots and other paved surfaces. There are several different kinds of seal coat, including asphalt emulsions, coal tar and acrylics. Each has its advantages, and depending on your pavement's needs, we can recommend the best type for your specific job.
We're Tucson's best choice when it comes to paving surfaces which are especially challenging, such as sports courts and running tracks, or steep and curving roads, or narrow pathways. And, we're experts with elevator paving, demolition and removals, and any job involving new construction. We also specialize in building clean, elegant pedestrian and bike paths. We're Tucson's leader in windrow elevator paving, which allows extra volume of paving material to be laid very quickly. Very few paving companies have the equipment or experience to use this paving method, but Tucson Asphalt does.
At Tucson Asphalt, we spent more than ten years developing Green Asphalt. It's our exclusive, patent-pending product that uses a special rubber binder to provide superior asphalt pavement while saving money and natural resources. Green Asphalt is truly a technological breakthrough that gives us a strong competitive advantage over other local paving companies. The secret of Green Asphalt lies in our proprietary rubber binder, which provides a tensile strength ratio as high as 99.4%. That's far superior to conventional binders, which tend to crack quickly.
At Tucson Asphalt Contractors, we have over 22 years of experience serving Tucson and Pima County. We're proud of our successful heritage of meeting customers' expectations. And, most importantly, we're easy to reach - Our president, Mr. Paul Polito, can be reached directly at 520-977-0585 with any questions or concerns. Our primary goals are to provide exceptional service to our customers and to provide a secure and progressive work environment for our team. To stay abreast of the best industry practices, our leaders and team members undergo continuing education and training about the newest technologies for paving and construction.
Asphalt is one of the world's most-used yet least-understood substances. It's been used continuously for at least a couple thousand years. And in spite of improvements through modern technology, we still haven't found anything that can replace asphalt paving for day-to-day applications. The asphalt used for road paving contains gravel, sand, oil-based liquid asphalt, along with some other constituents. Asphalt paving is flexible and durable, which are its most important qualities. Day after day, year after year, asphalt expands and contracts along with hot and cold weather, and it provides a smooth, safe, high-traction surface for vehicles' tires and pedestrians' shoes alike.
StreetPrint is a proprietary stamping technology that uses an asphalt-reheating process to produce highly realistic brick, stone and slate imprints on an asphalt base. StreetPrint offers the flexibility and durability of asphalt combined with beautiful, decorative design effects. This technology offers architects, designers and property owners a wide range of design possibilities. Most importantly, it provides the look of brick and stone without their expense. StreetPrint uses proprietary asphalt-reheating equipment and special coatings to yield creative finishes on any ordinary asphalt pavement surface.
Interestingly enough, people walk and drive on Asphalt all their lives, yet never really look at it with interest until they have a pavement project on their property. Asphalt surfaces are flexible and as temperatures rise and fall you may notice the surface will harden and soften. This is normal, so on really hot days you may want to lightly spray water on the surface in the heat of the day to cool and help harden it. Don't be alarmed if soap suds appear, this is a natural reaction between the asphalt and high chlorine levels in our water.
When an existing asphalt pavement has a sound foundation yet needs some rehabilitation work on the uppermost layers, we can often provide excellent results with our expert asphalt mill and inlay techniques. Milling involves grinding down into the upper layer of the existing asphalt in order to remove any cracks, ruts and imperfections. Then we place a layer of inlay paving on top of the milled surface, which fills any holes and levels it off. Finally, we place an asphalt overlay on top to finish the process.
During our over 30 years of asphalt paving experience here in Tucson, we've learned that the key to pavement longevity is to prepare and grade the sub-base and base correctly. Before laying any asphalt, we always make sure the sub-base can support the weight of intended traffic, and we take the time to properly grade everything. Our teams expertly grade all surfaces to ensure a long-lasting pavement with adequate drainage for water, and to provide a smooth, vibration-free surface for traffic. For most projects, we can make good use of the existing sub-base and base materials which are already in place.
Just like all materials, asphalt pavements deteriorate over time. So, occasional maintenance is necessary in order to ensure that your pavements provide the longest life and best service. If you're a business owner, proper maintenance of parking lots and driveways is important because customers always associate the appearance of your premises with the quality of your services. And, if you're a homeowner, you'll want to keep your driveways well-paved in order to protect the health and safety of your family and friends.
Chip seal or chip sealing (also called chipseal) is a pavement treatment that combines at least one layer of asphalt with at least one layer of aggregate. For homeowners and business owners here in the Tucson area, it's a popular method of providing a good surface for roads or driveways because it's less expensive than resurfacing, although not as long-lasting. Chip sealing extends your pavement's life and it provides a good driving surface. Chipseal uses the same materials as asphalt overlays, but the construction method is different.
Fabric overlays offer a cost-effective way to strengthen asphalt pavements and reduce cracking. Fabric overlay technologies allow us to boost your pavement's tensile strength, waterproof it, and reduce fatigue. As a result, your pavement will last far longer. The synthetic fabrics that we use for paving overlays are excellent at stopping cracks from growing because the fabric helps spread loads across a larger area. These fabrics are made of woven or non-woven polypropylene, polyester or nylon. We apply them during the asphalt paving process over cracked or worn existing pavement, then we place an asphalt overlay above them.
