Asphalt Paving can be divided into two categories; new pavement construction and overlaying of an existing surface. A new asphalt pavement surface can be installed over a reconstructed lot, an existing gravel lot, or as part of a larger new construction project. First, the excavation and grading of the area is done to establish the desired grade and drainage. Next, the gravel base is placed and compacted. Finally, a specified asphalt hot mix is installed to provide a finished surface based on the customer's needs.
At Minnesota Roadways, we are committed to providing the best service in the industry at a fair price. We provide a full-range of quality asphalt services that will help you protect your commercial pavement investment for years to come. Our dedication to your satisfaction means that our entire team works hard to ensure that our standard of excellence is met each time.
Crack sealing is an important maintenance process that stops water from seeping into cracks and further deteriorating your asphalt surface. When water freezes and thaws, it can break the surface pavement and cause future potholes and extensive asphalt damage. Minnesota Roadways recommends that crack sealing be done annually to extend the life of your pavement.
As a full-service asphalt contractor, Minnesota Roadways also provides quality excavation services. We have the personnel and expertise to handle excavation and grading projects ranging from large-scale site construction projects to basic parking lot maintenance.
Minnesota Roadways has the ability to meet all your paving needs. Since 1953, we've provided asphalt paving solutions for commercial construction projects of all sizes, including overlay of existing pavements, reconstruction of a deteriorated asphalt surfaces, and installation of a new pavement surfaces. We've worked hard to build a reputation for quality and dependability that owners and property managers throughout the Twin Cities rely on. An overlay adds new life to older asphalt, repairs flaws, and adds structural strength to the existing surface by adding a new layer of pavement to the top, giving it that like-new appearance.
If you have an asphalt parking lot, sooner or later is will need to be seal coated. All asphalt pavement is made up of liquid asphalt (tar) and gravel. Over time asphalt will "dry out" and become brittle. This is called oxidation and is evident by the surface turning grayish-brown in color, particles breaking loose from the surface, and cracks developing. Traffic, sunlight, and weather (rain, freeze/thaw cycles) all speed up this deterioration process. A seal coat is needed to prevent this erosion by creating a protective seal on the surface while protecting your pavement investment and beautifying your asphalt.
