WeatherGard is a local, family-owned company. Our main offices and factory are on 8 Mile road in Oak Park, and we have a second office location in Grand Rapids. Our story began in 1988, when founder Albert Ben-Ezra began designing and building windows. He invested in advanced machinery in our first factory, on Lyndon St. in Detroit (shown above), to become the first company in Michigan to offer a fully welded vinyl window. Everything was cleaned and assembled by hand, with emphasis on quality and customer satisfaction.
We use a combination of roofing components to ensure proper internal ventilation, ice protection and valley/chimney sealing, to avoid costly problems that affect Michigan homes. Typical shingle warranties are filled with fine print exclusions and aggressively prorated coverage. WeatherGard and Atlas provide real coverage. Lifetime protection against algae growth. Standard shingle warranties prorate or limit coverage of the shingles against algae growth and resulting wear and discoloration. Atlas Scotchgard-protected shingles are covered for life against all four strains of algae growth.
Insulating your home reduces the burden that your heating and cooling needs place on the environment through lower greenhouse and sulfur emissions. And we'll insulate using recycled material.
The gutters are custom made to fit each specific overhang, to create a clean, seamless appearance and prevent leaks. And every corner and end cap is then sealed with a quality sealant. Downspout extensions protect your home's foundation by keeping water away from the house. We often install extensions that are attached with a hinge, so that mowing and weed-trimming are as easy as before. Roof valleys channel large amounts of water to the corners of the gutters, sometimes leading to spill-over during heavy rains.
