Combining a passion for craftsmanship with a proven, collaborative process, MN Builders is in the business of transforming bold visions into well-designed, precisely-executed environments that last lifetimes. Don't let our enthusiasm for your project fool you. This isn't our first rodeo. In fact, we've been helping build the Bay Area since 1981 and we take a craftsperson's pride in every one of the 3200+ projects we've helped make real. We believe empowered employees know a thing or two about helping clients feel the same way.

When you've been around the building business as long as we have, there's not a lot we haven't seen-and even less that we haven't mastered. From the customized cabinetry that started it all to multimillion-dollar construction projects for some of the world's most well-known brands, MN Builders brings that right scale, service offering, and team to whatever your project requires. Want to build to a design instead of a blueprint? We provide the full-service design assistance that allows you to plan down to the quarter inch.

Millwork is where we began in 1981, and the lessons those early projects taught us about attention to detail, never compromising on quality, and loving what we do still guide us today. The scale and scope of our operations have expanded over the years, but the satisfaction we take from delivering one-of-a-kind millwork creations to happy customers has never wavered.

MN Builders is proud to be a majority employee-owned business, with an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) in place since 2016. But why should you care? Well, for starters, empowered employees who share in a company's success have a vested interest in doing everything they can to make that success happen. And for forty years, our success has been built on not just creating enduring, precisely executed environments for families and businesses alike, but on delivering building experiences that ensure our clients are always informed, heard, and happy.

As the global pandemic continues to blur the lines between home and office, businesses see the value in bringing a residential approach to their commercial building projects. We're excited to be launching a new chapter in our MN Builders story, one that allows us to apply our unique crafts person's perspective to workplaces built with people and the new business normal in mind. Las Trampas is a non-profit that does amazing work supporting adults with developmental disabilities, despite a 1960s-era campus that was falling apart.

Mueller Nichols did an exceptional job when they built our home. The project completed on time and within 7% of the original estimated budget--industry average is between 10-15%. Their crew and their subs were personable, efficient, and operated at a very high level of quality. Any problems that did arise were dealt with directly, resolved as quickly as possible and done to our satisfaction. Our modern home design left little room for error and required the skill of absolute craftsmen. Mueller Nichols did not disappoint.

What's new?

December 31st, 2020 marked the end of an era with the retirement of former partner and VP of Construction, Chris Vaughan, making him the second person to retire from MN Builders with the full benefits of the ESOP. Chris joined us in the fall of 1998, bringing with him a crew of carpenters and the.
