Since 2005, Mattern & FitzGerald has built beautiful custom homes in San Antonio, Boerne, New Braunfels and surrounding areas. Our focus on details, process and organization has allowed us to deliver consistent quality across a broad range of home styles. Our decades of experience in business management and our award-winning team has allowed us in a relatively short amount of time to become one of San Antonio's largest custom home builders by volume, building between 25-30 homes a year. There is so much that goes into building a great custom home from creativity to execution, to post warranty and risk management.

We are a very process driven company. It is difficult to build a consistent process for custom homes, since by definition each home is different. But that is exactly what we have done! We have built a process that allows us to deliver consistent, quality homes on time and on budget, without surprises. We have been able to develop this process because we run our business like a business, not out of a pickup truck. We are extremely organized, which has allowed us to grow to 25-30 custom homes per year, making us one of the largest custom home builders by volume in the greater San Antonio area.

At M&F we see ourselves as stewards of our client's financial resources. We provide comprehensive preconstruction phase services to assist clients in bringing their project to reality. Our team provides everything from conceptual estimates to detailed construction estimates, and Value Engineering suggestions pre and post bid. We take a leadership role in determining the entire project schedule durations, from napkin sketch to close-out. There is a going theory that commercial projects don't require a discerning eye for detail.

We are committed to maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction because it is critical to our success. The custom home building community is a fairly small world and word gets around. If you are fair to your sub-contractors, the trade knows about it. If you are a quality builder who treats others with respect, the industry knows about it. And of you have a reputation of taking care of your customers before, during and after the sale, potential clients will learn about it. We believe our success is directly tied to how we treat our customers.

We did not start out as custom home builders, and that gave us a few advantages. Both Kevin and Jason began their careers working for large companies, so they bring decades of experience in business management to an industry that is historically NOT business focused. This business savvy allowed us to build a business that is more organized, more process driven, more focused on delivering results for our clients, and much better at meeting deadlines and budgets. These are basic business tenets that are often lacking in custom home builders.
