Willow Glen Electric is a locally owned, community involved, and family-run business providing quality electrical customer service for residential and light commercial customers since 1987. Over the years we have provided electrical services for HP Pavilion, California's Great America, and numerous startups and light-commercial clients, in addition to thousands of satisfied homeowners and small businesses. Our San Jose electricians specialize in 200 Amp panel upgrades, LED lighting systems (new installations and retrofits), electric vehicle circuits consulting & circuits, whole house re-wires, electrical repairs, safety upgrades, small jobs, fans (all types) and troubleshooting for homes, offices and small businesses.
Willow Glen Electric looks for skilled electricians who are also adept at customer service, willing to learn and adapt to the WGE-standard of excellence. We also look for trainees who have exhibited appropriate aptitude and an honest work ethic.
Is the power out in one room of your house, or perhaps half your house? Our electricians are trained to solve these tricky issues and can get your power working properly again. Most home electrical wiring problems result from mistakes in installation, inferior connections and materials, and the age of the system. Problems such as lighting or receptacle failure, flickering lights, intermittent or fading power, overloads, excessive voltage and other unusual occurrences in your electrical system can be solved by Willow Glen Electric.
LEDs can save up to 90% of the energy you would typically use with incandescent lighting. LED lighting offers brilliant and vibrant colors. The whites are dynamic and come close to matching incandescent lighting. They come in your choice of warm white and cool white. Another advantage of LEDs is that they are virtually indestructible and are estimated to last between 25,000-50,000 hours, up to 50 times as long as the typical fragile incandescent bulb. A set of LED lights can be expected to outlive any incandescent light sets and requires virtually no maintenance or bulb-changing over a period of many years.
If your home has no A/C or you want to save money and energy by using your A/C less, consider installing an efficient whole-house fan. A whole-house fan pulls cool outside air into your home and pushes hot air out into the attic space. These units cost a fraction of what full A/C units cost and use much less energy. They can even work as well in certain situations! During the summer your attic temperatures can reach up to 140°F! This heat can seep into your living space and cause your A/C to work harder than it needs to.

We may be able to replace the damaged circuit breaker; however, if you have an older panel (Zinsco, Federal Pacific Electric, Bulldog), we highly recommend a complete panel upgrade due to safety and fire concerns. Call us for our 10-point Home Electrical Safety Inspection. We will come to your house, inspect your electrical system, and give you a number of recommended upgrades and repairs to make your home safer. It sounds like the ballasts need to be replaced in your fluorescent fixtures. We may also recommend replacing the ballasts and lamps with energy efficient and instant-on electronic ballasts and lamps.
Your electrical panel regulates the electricity from your utility and distributes it in your home though individual circuits. It's circuit breakers control how much current is available for each circuit. Older electrical panels such as Zinsco and Federal Pacific no longer work as designed and can be a safety and fire hazard in your home. Willow Glen Electric can replace your old, defective fuse and circuit breaker panels that may have numerous electrical code violations and safety hazards. Electrical panel maintenance, repair, and replacement is dangerous and should only be performed by licensed and experienced contractors.
