We are a custom home builder serving the Anne Arundel County and Eastern Shore regions of Maryland. Located in Annapolis, we specialize in custom homes and renovation projects.

Our founder, John B. Lauer, Jr. entered the building industry at the age of 18 when he began working for a large construction company, building and supervising work on various large residential and commercial properties. In 1972, John started Lauer Construction. During the first 20 years, John and his team built more than 300 homes and renovations in the Anne Arundel County area. Each home was a shining example of John's commitment to his customers. The 1990's witnessed the expansion of Lauer Construction.

Renovating is a wonderful way to create a new feel to an old space or to increase the amount of space you have. When designing an addition, we work with our architect partners to identify the best way to marry the new with the existing structure, making sure the old and new blend seamlessly together. At Lauer Construction, the same skilled team of craftsmen, project managers, and suppliers who work on our custom homes also work on renovation projects. This ensures that customers receive the highest quality workmanship and materials, and have access to the same resources as our custom home clients.

Lauer Construction is pleased to offer the services of architect partners who work with us on design-build projects. Our architects are creative and experienced in all types of architectural styles, marrying the dreams and needs of our customers with the environmental and regulatory demands of the property. Alternatively, Lauer Construction can utilize your architecture plans. We are willing to review and comment on any plans or drawings you may have in-hand. Lauer Construction will provide you with an honest assessment of your project based on our experience and knowledge.

A trusted builder can help you evaluate the scope of your project based on your budget as well as the property itself for positioning the home based on building codes. They can also answer questions about building materials and site conditions which may require special considerations. For instance, is there an existing structure on the property or is it a vacant lot?
