Manuel and his wife, Geri, were both born and raised in the Houston area. Manuel first learned home maintenance and construction, along with his 6 brothers, from their dad. Professionally, he has worked in the residential construction industry since 1994.

This Houston client purchased an old house in the Montrose area that they wanted a complete vintage remodel to the only bathroom before they moved in. Featured prominently in place of an old shower stall is a linen cabinet with drawers and shelves that we, at HomeBase Repairs custom-built for the client. Glass inserts in cabinet doors and an overhead light reveal beautiful carpentry. Part of the wainscoating was removed to change the new tub surround to subway tile with a colorful insert. A tiled bench was added to the new bathtub area to fill the wall space.

This Pecan Grove resident of Richmond hired HomeBase Repairs to perform their kitchen remodel, prompted by a previous water leak in the exterior wall that had been repaired. Their plan included custom-built cabinets and pantry. One of the wall cabinets serves as a pull-out spicerack, as seen in one of the photos provided here. These beautiful white, wood cabinets reach to the ceiling and provide ample storage. New granite counter-tops, hardware and stainless appliances complete the job to the client's satisfaction.

We moved to Crabb, TX just outside Richmond in 1982, 2 years after we were married. We lived there 6 years and in that time had 2 baby girls born two years apart. Along with the acre we bought came a small mobile home park that we earned a monthly rental income from. We bought a beat-up old, small, one bedroom trailer for $600. From there, we moved to Rosenberg. After our 4th child was born, we started a commercial cleaning business with the help of Manuel's oldest brother. It took a new direction after the ice storm of 1994, and we found ourselves trimming trees, repairing roofs, soffit and fascia, and maintaining homeowner's lawns.

Among kitchen and bathroom remodels, we've built cabinets for a mud room combined with the utility room at a house in Sienna Plantation of Missouri City. The kitchen tile floor didn't need to be replaced, but everything else did. We removed the wall oven to rebuild the opening for a new oven and provide for a larger pantry. Granite countertops, white subway tile backsplash, stainless appliances, and distressed-painted cabinets added to the renovation, but the hallmark feature is the chimney range hood that replaced an overhanging cabinet.

We constructed an 18'x15' addition to the back ofour Richmond customer's house that would enclose a man cave / bedroom, bathroom and laundry room. The added roofties in to the existing roof and covers a newly poured concretepatio with access from the new bedroom door. This studio apartment attached to the back of our Missouri City customer's house gave their loved one her own living quarters equipped with its own kitchen, bathroom and outdoor entrance. See more details and photos here. We had some major repair work that needed to be done on a balcony, We had trouble finding anyone who knew how to fix it properly.

This Richmond client hired us to remodel their kitchen and master shower. Several other tasks were commissioned including the installation of hardscape tile and new baseboard throughout entire house. The project took about 85 days to renovate, but we had a sales contract in about 2 weeks after entering the market, and were able to sell it far higher than we originally planned.

Residents in Sugar Land hired us to remodel their fireplace area so the new mantle would be long enough to showcase photos of their growing family or just have more decorating fun according to the season.

This beautiful home in Pasadena showed moisture and wood rot underneath the balcony and at the arched window above the backyard door. Once the concrete was demolished, the wood floor beneath revealed shoddy construction, moisture collection and wood rot. Extensive repairs, new construction and subsequent interior repairs were executed. The clients now enjoy their newly-constructed balcony which includes Trex flooring and black wrought iron railing. This outdoor kitchen with removable grill in Missouri City, is a stylish showpiece with an easy budget.

Houston is Geri's hometown and the nearby city of Pasadena is Manuel's. We have seen Houston and surrounding areas become extremely large and full of opportunity. This gave us confidence to start our own general contracting business, since we both had family and friends to support us and get us started. A Missouri City client living in Teal Run, hired us to build a studio apartment attached to the back of her house to give her mother her own living quarters equipped with its own kitchen, bathroom and outdoor entrance. The HOA had to approve of the size and permits specified the dimensions. The roof from the back of the house had to be extended and framed in perfectly. Subcontractors for foundation, framing, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC contributed to the rough-in. As seen in two photos below, the apartment rough-in is completed with only the painting, plumbing trim and cabinet installation remaining on the inside.
