Back in the early 1960s, Ralph Wells, the founder of the business, worked construction for a local contractor in the Bellevue area. Driven by the desire to own and manage his own business, he decided to buy his first backhoe. By 1963 he was out on his own. The business evolved quickly into a full service landscape company. By the early 1970s, Ralph and his wife, Margaret and 3 children took another big step.
