Peninsula Roofing LLC is a family owned and operated company that has been in the roofing industry for over 70 years with four generations roofing in the northwest. In 1937 Gene Ryker Sr. started working in Tacoma with his uncle Glen Giessman who had previously been roofing slate and tile roofs along the west coast. During this time in the Depression Era, Gene Sr. was working for $1 a day. Gene Sr. was in the Pacific during WWII and returned to roofing in 1945 after the war. In 1959 Gene Jr. started roofing with his dad, and two years later his brother Tom began roofing.
