Most of our Reclaimed and Rustic Planking is finished on the job site. Typically these floors are lightly abraded and then finish is applied to preserve the natural character of these floors. Reclaimed and Rustic Flooring typically get a minimal amount of filling to preserve the natural character of these floors, but additional filling is available upon request. Ward Hardwood Flooring can provide custom Hand-Scraping to any of our flooring products. While there are many prefinished choices for hand-scraped hardwood flooring, none match the authentic beauty of our custom hand-scraped flooring.

Antique & Reclaimed Oak flooring is a mix of Red and White Oak we source from century-old structures. Our most popular antique flooring brings a unique beauty and character to any project. Antique & Reclaimed Oak offers an aged strength and durability with unique feel and warm patina. Our Antique & Reclaimed Oak comes with naturally distressed character or resawn to have a smooth feel. This reclaimed material is made from joist, rafters, siding and floor boards taken from forgotten wooden structures.

Traditional Strip Flooring is produced from an economical grade of domestic hardwood lumber. As the name implies, more narrow strips are cut from this wider lumber and all sides are milled to create the strip flooring. Then the strips are sorted by grading, from clear of defects to the more economical lower grades with shorter lengths and more frequent knots and other defects. This is in contrast to our more rustic "True Planking" with its wider widths, longer lengths and interesting knots and graining.
