A Timberpeg timber frame home is designed to fit your style. View our library of photo galleries and take a virtual tour of many of our homes too. We also have done many non-residential buildings including offices, barns, restaurants, wineries, religious structures and lots more. Timberpeg has designed thousands of homes nationwide. Our homes are based on a modular system of design that makes them infinitely adaptable in style, layout and size. Most of our home plans are entirely custom but many began with a post and beam home plan found here and were modified to meet varying needs.

Dating back over 50 years, the extraordinary Timberpeg designs you see on this website come from humble beginnings. One man had a vision to build homes that blended harmoniously with the countryside. He began fulfilling this vision by handcrafting his own home out of a stand of white pine trees in Hartland, Vermont in 1963. The original home was a log home and it was 1972 when the same man began designing and reviving energy efficient timber frame homes. We're honored to have so many Timberpeg homes and commercial projects receive various awards over the years.

Timberpeg timber frames are cut in Claremont, New Hampshire. At the heart of our factory is a Hundegger CNC cutting machine, capable of very fast, precise production. We also have an incredible staff of craftsman who inspect each piece of timber, and in some cases, cut timber by hand when needed. The timbers are custom ordered from a few, select mills located where the finest Douglas fir grows. We routinely stock in our yard 250,000 to 500,000 board feet of beautiful Douglas fir. We use the structural grades which meet our requirements.

Every Timberpeg home is designed from the beginning to be functional, energy efficient and sustainable. From the materials we use and the suppliers we partner with, a Timberpeg home is green, sustainable and energy efficient and it's why so many people have chosen to build with us for over 40 years. Some of our customers and their builders have gone another step to have their homes inspected and certified as being Sustainable, Green and/or Energy Efficient through various certification organizations including Energy Star, EarthCraft House, and several others.
