His career in the Augusta area, has led to the reputation that Southpaw Roofing has now, come to be known for. David attended Furman University on a baseball scholarship, and then in 1998, he was drafted by the Florida Marlins. Later on, he continued this career pitching for the Chicago Cubs and Arizona Diamondbacks, before suffering a career-ending injury.
